Chapter Ten: Rising Up

A fervent recommendation for the new book, "Beast Demon Fox Immortal," by the notorious Burning Desire YY Warcraft. This author is known for his licentious style, and I promise it will not disappoint. Book number: 144106.
Suddenly, the force surging through his spiritual veins turned wild and uncontrollable. The sensation was as if a relentless hammer, pounding incessantly, was abruptly transformed into a sharp spear, ruthlessly piercing through the barrier that the Crimson Immortal Pill posed to his meridians.
The agony, like ten thousand ants gnawing at his heart, left Li Chengzhu resembling a stroke victim, his entire body trembling uncontrollably, shuddering as though in a fit.
Xiaoying was the first to notice the drastic change in Boss Li. She hurriedly lowered her head, only to see Li Chengzhu’s handsome face as pale as parchment, indistinguishable from a blank sheet of paper. Beads of sweat the size of beans rolled down his forehead, instantly soaking his clothes through and through.
“What’s wrong, Chengzhu?” Xiaoying called out anxiously, stretching her delicate hands in an attempt to steady his violently quaking form.
But at that moment, Li Chengzhu’s frenzy was like a Spanish bull maddened by a flash of red—his not-so-sturdy body arched slightly and flicked Xiaoying’s spirited hands aside with a force that resembled a beast in heat, leaving Xiaoying inwardly alarmed.
Now, Xiaoying had no time to worry about him further. In his wild fit, Boss Li had flung Gu Linglong, who had been peacefully sleeping on his lap, clear away. In a flash, Xiaoying teleported to catch Gu Linglong’s falling body, cradling her gently. When she turned back, the spot where Li Chengzhu had been was now a maelstrom of chaos, dust swirling everywhere, making it impossible to discern what was happening within.
Yet, from amid the haze, Boss Li’s guttural growls rang out, bestial and wounded, stirring a thread of worry in Xiaoying’s heart.
Li Chengzhu seemed to be wrestling with an invisible foe for his very life, rolling on the ground, raising such clouds of dust that even the falling rain could not wash them away.
“Chengzhu, Chengzhu…” Xiaoying cried, her voice trembling with tears, but her bond with Gu Linglong kept her from rushing in to see for herself.
Suddenly, a “bang” echoed in Xiaoying’s ears, followed by a tremor in the earth. The whirling dust cloud seemed caught in an invisible circle, rapidly retreating outward and sending ripples through the air.
“Bang!” The sound came again.
Xiaoying felt the impact resonate in her very heart, shaking the spiritual core she had cultivated over centuries.
The ground quaked. She glanced at a small puddle in a nearby hollow; with every boom, the water shimmered and rippled with waves.
The dust finally began to thin, and through the dissipating haze, Xiaoying could just make out Li Chengzhu’s form. He was half-kneeling, one hand braced against the earth, the other slowly raised, fist clenched. Then, at a speed her eyes could not follow, he brought his fist crashing down.
“Bang!”

Not far away, several great trees shuddered, their young leaves fluttering down. Li Chengzhu’s formidable power left even these celestial plants trembling in fear.
A sense of foreboding welled up in Xiaoying’s heart. Cradling Gu Linglong and grabbing the little creature, she turned and sped away in the opposite direction, silently praying for Li Chengzhu’s safety.
But at that very instant, the swirling dust seemed swept up by a powerful, invisible force, streaming rapidly toward Boss Li.
Then, a surge of spirit pressure, overwhelming and tyrannical, radiated from Li Chengzhu as its center, lashing out like lightning. The force was so immense that the dust was swept away entirely. The trees bent under the pressure, only slowly straightening after a long while.
Narrowing her eyes against the assault, Xiaoying pressed forward, her back aching as if raw and battered by the “red dust storm.” She stumbled, pitching into someone’s arms.
Startled, Xiaoying’s sword leapt from its scabbard as she sprang back. But the little creature leapt forward joyfully, squeaking with delight.
A pull, irresistible and gentle, drew Xiaoying in, leaving her with no thought of resistance. She found herself enveloped in a warm, soothing green aura. Looking up, she found herself face-to-face with Boss Li, who wore a half-smile.
“You…” Xiaoying was momentarily at a loss. Just a moment ago, Boss Li had been behind her, pounding the earth—how had he appeared before her in an instant? Even with teleportation, she couldn’t believe she’d noticed nothing. And this overwhelming spirit pressure, this strange green aura—it all defied reason, leaving her stunned.
Li Chengzhu grinned, flicking her nose playfully. “I’ll explain later,” he said, reaching to take Gu Linglong from her arms.
Boss Li, now suffused in green light, found it all rather astonishing. But the pressing danger left him no time to dwell on it.
He gently laid Gu Linglong down, then with a single motion, tore away her now crimson-stained white dress, exposing a wound on her abdomen the size of a fist.
Xiaoying covered her mouth in shock. She hadn’t realized Gu Linglong’s external wounds were so severe—the immortal sword’s attack formation must have been devastatingly powerful.
Boss Li sneered coldly. This debt, he vowed, would soon be repaid in full.
He placed his large hand over Gu Linglong’s wound and slowly channeled the green spirit energy into her body.
In just a short while, when Boss Li lifted his hand, Xiaoying was astonished to see that the fist-sized wound had vanished, not even leaving a scar on her abdomen.
“Watch over her,” Boss Li ordered, gazing skyward. Yuanmu and Qiufeng were still locked in battle with the two immortals, but the situation looked dire. Qiufeng’s strength was lacking, and if not for Yuanmu’s protection, he would long since have fallen to their swords.

“You’re going?” Xiaoying fixed her gaze intently on Li Chengzhu.
Boss Li glanced back at her, reading the worry in her eyes, and offered a faint smile. “Are you hoping I’ll run before it’s too late?”
Xiaoying nodded.
“This muddled account must be settled, one way or another.” With that, Boss Li didn’t give her another chance to reply. In a flash, he teleported onto the battlefield, the little creature perched on his shoulder.
To flee now, without even knowing who their enemies were, would be a disgrace beyond bearing.
Moreover, the sudden surge of green spirit energy gave Li Chengzhu a newfound confidence. The totem of the God-Slaying Bow on his left hand gleamed and flashed. Remembering the domineering force that shattered the Crimson Immortal Pill, Li Chengzhu understood that this was surely the work of the God-Slaying Bow.
He appeared behind Qiufeng and, before the man could react, formed a blade with his hand and struck him at the nape, breaking through his defenses and knocking him unconscious. Qiufeng wobbled and fell from the sky, landing on the ground with a “plop” like a fish.
Li Chengzhu’s abrupt arrival left the remaining three immortals wide-eyed. They had sensed the disturbance below but, preoccupied with battle, couldn’t discern exactly what had happened.
Only Yuanmu recognized the spirit pressure instantly. It was the same force that had once vanquished the Six-Winged Angel. Remembering his previous suspicions, Yuanmu seemed to grasp the crucial point at last.
“Good heavens, you’re ruthless. Even if it’s out of jealousy, did you have to strike at such a moment?” After a moment’s daze, Yuanmu recovered, speaking with righteous indignation, spit flying.
Boss Li chuckled, dismissing the two immortals as if they were nothing. “Don’t you find him a nuisance?”
Yuanmu burst out laughing. “You, of all people, understand me! Damn it, that guy only ever drags me down. Well struck!”
