"Well, well. Is the little sister so surprised to see her eldest sister like this? Did I not tell you that I would return? Did I not ask you to take good care of this great clan in my stead? How can this be? Have you forgotten everything just because you haven't seen your sister in all these years?" Feng Yi spoke leisurely, her tone somewhat indifferent.

Feng Two looked at the silver-haired woman before her, knowing very well that if she acknowledged her identity now, the elders of the clan would inevitably connect it to past events, and her position as the First Elder would no longer be secure. She could not let the status she had obtained with such difficulty be handed over to someone else just like that! Absolutely not!

"Who are you? How dare you impersonate my eldest sister! From a distance, there is indeed a slight resemblance, but up close, it is clear as day that you are a fake! Speak, who on earth are you? And why are you impersonating my eldest sister?! If you don't speak the truth, do not blame me for resorting to force!" Feng Two walked toward Feng Yi step by step with her head lowered, then raised her head and spoke with righteous indignation!

Feng Yi looked at the once obedient younger sister who used to share her worries. Was she now willing to lie simply out of fear that Feng Yi would take back things that had never belonged to her in the first place? No, not just willing—she had already done it! Such was the nature of human hearts!

A piercing chill began to radiate from her entire body. Feng Yi walked forward with a smile, stood directly in front of her younger sister, reached out, and stroked the face of her "obedient" younger sister. It was indeed still as smooth as before. "My dear sister truly has a noble and forgetful mind. Have you forgotten so completely that you need your sister to help jog your memory?"

Feeling the hand moving across her face, Feng Two tried to break free. But the current Feng Yi was no longer the person she used to be; no matter how hard Feng Two struggled, she could not escape from Feng Yi's fingertips.

The people who had followed Feng Two out watched this scene in absolute shock. They were dumbfounded—why was the First Elder not fighting back? How could she be completely immobilized by some inexplicable woman? Was this not utterly surreal?

That was the First Elder! The most powerful First Elder in the entire clan! How could she be easily captured and left unable to escape?

Their First Elder was indeed powerful—a peak False Emperor, how could she not be strong? Yet what they did not know was that the woman pinning their First Elder down was far beyond a mere peak False Emperor! She had already stepped into the realm of the False Sovereign, becoming a true powerhouse! To a False Sovereign, a False Emperor was nothing more than an ant!

"Who are you? Let go at once!"

"Do you know who you are holding? Release her immediately, or do not blame us for taking action!"

A group of white-haired elders could not help shouting out upon seeing this scene.

Feng Yi raised her eyes to look at that group of people. They were no longer the ones who had once stood shoulder to shoulder with her. It seemed that her dear sister, in order to completely erase her from history, had forced everyone connected to her and everyone who truly understood her to step down from their positions!

"Shut your mouths! Say another word and I will tear your tongues out! Keep the peace and stop disturbing Grandma Feng Yi as she catches up with her good sister!" Yin Su cast a cold glance at the group of elders, warning them with an extremely hostile attitude!

Hearing Yin Su's words, the elders naturally caught a few crucial words: Feng Yi! Sister!

Could this silver-haired woman be the First Elder's sister? But the First Elder's sister—sister—wait a moment! Feng Yi! Was she not, was she not the very same Feng Yi who, a century ago, had confined herself within a barrier solely to break through the False Emperor realm and enter the realm of the False Sovereign?

Some of them quickly reacted. They had heard of such a legendary figure as Feng Yi, but she had been gone for far too long—so long that everyone had almost forgotten her!

"Quickly, go invite the elders of the previous generation." Someone motioned for a servant to go fetch them.

Feng Yi glanced at Yin Su. She was a clever child, far better at handling intricate situations than she herself had been, and far better at utilizing people to her advantage! A warmth she had not felt before quietly surfaced in Feng Yi's gaze toward Yin Su.

"No, don't." Seeing the servant turn and run away swiftly, Feng Two cried out in a desperate, tearing shriek! Once the elders of the previous generation arrived, her lies would be exposed, and her power and status would slip away from her forever!

Feng Two's behavior at that moment only served to heighten everyone's suspicions. She was foolish; she had been far too hasty. The other elders were already casting glances of doubt her way!

From the very beginning, the First Elder had seen the silver-haired woman and subconsciously blurted out the word "Eldest Sister." It was clear that when she called it out, she had been astonished and unable to believe her eyes!

Yet shortly afterward, upon walking closer, the First Elder had claimed that the person was an impostor. However, the young woman beside the silver-haired woman had seemingly unintentionally, yet deliberately, revealed the silver-haired woman's true identity. This was truly suspicious!

Now they were merely waiting for those from the previous generation who were familiar with the First Elder Feng Yi to arrive and confirm the truth!

"Why did you have to come back?" Feng Two asked through gritted teeth, her voice suppressed and trembling with rage.

Feng Yi lowered her gaze to look at Feng Two's distorted face and smiled faintly. "My dear sister, are you really so unwelcoming of my return? I missed you terribly. The moment I returned, I came straight to you. But... you have disappointed me far too much."

The sudden shift in Feng Yi's tone made Feng Two tremble. She knew that since Feng Yi had managed to return, she must possess the strength of a False Sovereign; she did not dare act rashly! She was terrified that Feng Yi might accidentally kill her! Once the group of elders arrived, everything she had built would be utterly ruined! Why should she lose to Feng Yi? Why should she be condemned to live forever in Feng Yi's shadow?

Feng Two stopped speaking. She lowered her head, refusing to look at Feng Yi or anyone else.

Yin Su, who had been observing the surroundings the entire time, lowered her gaze and caught sight of Feng Two—and the look of deep hatred in Feng Two's eyes. Feng Two was staring fixedly at the ground. Yin Su could not understand what kind of deep grievance existed between her and Grandma Feng Yi! Was she not Grandma Feng Yi's own biological sister? Had Grandma Feng Yi not said herself that back then, Feng Two was her only remaining blood relative in this world?

As she looked into Feng Two's eyes, a bad premonition arose in Yin Su's heart. She kept her eyes fixed on Feng Two, refusing to miss a single movement she made.

"Feng Yi? Is it really Feng Yi? I heard you've returned, is it true?"

Before seeing the person, her voice was heard first. Upon hearing that familiar, brisk voice, a radiant smile bloomed on Feng Yi's face. She subconsciously loosened her grip on Feng Two's chin and looked toward the source of the sound. Even Yin Su was infected by that cheerful voice and could not help turning her head to look.

"Feng Yi! Go to hell!" Whose frantic voice rang out?

Feng Two suddenly jerked her head up, drew a dagger from her robes, and thrust it straight toward Feng Yi's heart!

The flash of light reflected off the blade's surface caught Yin Su in the eyes. As she instinctively turned back, she witnessed Feng Two's frenzied action: "Grandma Feng Yi, watch out!"

Her cry shattered in the air. Even as she shouted, Yin Su bolted forward with the fastest speed of her entire life.

Hearing Yin Su's warning, Feng Yi instinctively turned her head back. The glaring light reflected from the blade dazzled her eyes, and purely out of reflex, she closed her eyes, reached out, grabbed the wrist of the person attempting the sneak attack, twisted it backward, and pushed forward.

The sound of a blade piercing flesh echoed through the air, and warm blood splattered across Feng Yi's face. As she opened her eyes, she found her own hand gripping Feng Two's hand, driving a dagger deep into Feng Two's chest...

Feng Two smiled—a desolate, tragic smile. Using her remaining strength, she loosened her grip on Feng Yi's hand and fell straight backward.

Her lips parted slightly, moving faintly. Though no sound came out, Feng Yi read the shape of her words: "In the end... you won after all. I still lost..."

A single line of crystal tears slipped uncontrollably down Feng Yi's face.

Yin Su's outstretched hand froze mid-air.

A chorus of sharp gasps filled the surrounding air.

Feng Two had acknowledged Feng Yi's identity with her own actions—and confirmed it with her very life! She was dead, killed by the hands of her own biological sister—no, killed by her own hand.

Feng Yi stared at the smiling face of Feng Two lying on the ground, her heart aching faintly. Why did you have to do this? Why did you say it had to be either me or you? Why did you say that in the next life we should never be sisters again? Why did you say you hoped that in your next lifetime, your world would be free of her, free of anyone who overshadowed all your light?

Her heart felt as though it were being carved by knives. Feng Two was Feng Yi's only remaining blood relative in this entire world! She had never intended for things to end this way; she simply could not comprehend Feng Two's actions. Did power and status truly matter that much?

This time, when she returned, she intended to take back everything that rightfully belonged to her, but that did not mean she wanted to strip Feng Two of everything she possessed!

The elders, who had been hurrying over from a distance, arrived just in time to witness this exact scene.

Their old friend Feng Yi was crouched on the ground, gently stroking the face of the fallen current First Elder. A vast patch of crimson stained the First Elder's chest, where a dagger remained deeply embedded. Feng Yi's face was covered in tear tracks as she wept in total silence. Numerous people stood around them, every single one of them struck dumb with shock.

"Feng Yi... what happened here?" Disbelief hung heavy in the hesitant question.

Still refusing to turn her head, Feng Yi kept her eyes fixed on her younger sister's face as tears silently traced their path down her cheeks. Yin Su was the first to snap back to her senses. Facing the crowd, she spoke in a harsh, ringing voice: "The former First Elder, Feng Two, attempted to assassinate Senior Feng Yi and failed. Her death is well-deserved! The true First Elder has finally returned—she is Feng Yi!"

Hearing Yin Su's chillingly calm voice, Feng Yi finally snapped out of her daze. How could she have forgotten what kind of person Yin Su truly was? Only she could maintain such icy composure under circumstances like these!

"Greetings to First Elder Feng Yi."

One by one, the people began to drop to their knees. Having witnessed the entire sequence of events with their own eyes, they naturally knew what they ought to do.

Feng Yi lowered her hand from Feng Two's face and slowly stood up. She made no move to wipe the tears from her face, simply standing tall as she commanded, "Bury the former First Elder with the highest honors of the First Elder."

With those words, Feng Yi flicked her sleeves and walked away, heading straight into the ancestral hall of the Phoenix clan. Yin Su cast one last meaningful glance at the gathered crowd before turning to follow Feng Yi inside.

Once they had finished dealing with Feng Two's corpse, the others entered the ancestral hall as well, waiting to hear what instructions First Elder Feng Yi might have for them.

"I will resume the position of First Elder. The young person beside me is my chosen successor. Three years from now, I will pass this position on to her."
