143 Heart Burning with Passion (Double Chapter)
Xiao Yao and Yin Xiaoya sat together, chatting and drinking. Unwittingly, more than a dozen empty wine bottles had accumulated on the table.
Fortunately, they were all small bottles of beer, and the two hit it off famously. When they finally parted ways at midnight, neither of them had even needed to use the restroom.
After all, they had just met. Although Xiao Yao was eager to win Yin Xiaoya over as quickly as possible and felt quite confident about it, it still required time.
Yin Xiaoya was indeed a gold-digger; she certainly valued money highly. However, this gold-digger had an extremely strong defense mechanism. Dating was fine, but trying to take things further to more intimate actions was exceptionally difficult.
As they parted, Xiao Yao invited Yin Xiaoya to try the specialty dishes at the Scent Seeking Restaurant, scheduling it for noon the following day.
Yin Xiaoya worked as a salesperson at a BMW 4S dealership. Because she was sufficiently pretty—though her professional competence was merely average—her sales performance was consistently at the top every month.
Being too pretty was an advantage for a woman, but sometimes it also brought trouble.
Every month, Yin Xiaoya encountered various kinds of trouble a few times. In the past, she had enough patience to deal with them, but today she lacked her usual patience.
The short, fat man in front of her had arrived at ten o'clock, and she had been attending to him the entire time. She could clearly sense that this fat man had very little desire to buy a car, yet he kept coming up with various reasons to pester her, driving Yin Xiaoya to distraction.
"Mr. Chang, we'll be getting off work soon, and I need to organize some paperwork now. If you have a genuine intention to buy, you are welcome to come back for a consultation at any time." This Mr. Chang was obviously trying to hit on her, and Yin Xiaoya had no choice but to be blunt.
Yin Xiaoya attached great importance to today's noon date. She had originally planned to ask for leave to leave a bit early, trying to arrive ahead of time to avoid getting caught in traffic and running late.
The more she anticipated the noon date, the more repulsed she felt by the endlessly entangling fat man before her.
She didn't discriminate against short and stout people, but this short, fat man kept leering at her with lustful eyes, which thoroughly disgusted her.
Yet this short, fat man was an acquaintance of her boss, and the supervisor had already warned her not to treat this person lightly.
Judging by the hints in the short, fat man's words, he should be a fairly wealthy second-generation rich kid, and he certainly had the financial capacity to buy a top-of-the-line BMW.
However, Yin Xiaoya could sense that his claim of wanting to buy a car was probably just an excuse; his true purpose must be to hit on her.
Short and stout individuals also had the right to pursue romantic love, and in this regard, Yin Xiaoya held no discriminatory mindset. But she had already explicitly refused him, yet this fat man refused to leave, inventing all sorts of reasons to hound her relentlessly. That was what made people resentful.
The short, fat man had pestered Yin Xiaoya for half the day, exhausting every flattering word, but to no avail. Now that Yin Xiaoya had issued an eviction notice, his patience was almost completely spent.
Although the short, fat man's parents were not mega-tycoons, their assets were at least thirty million, and he had business dealings with the dealership's owner, maintaining a fairly decent relationship.
He had taken a fancy to this beautiful saleswoman at the dealership, and based on past experience, as long as he cast a little bait, the beauty would soon take the hook.
Yet all his past experiences completely failed today; this beautiful saleswoman wouldn't even grant him a shred of an opportunity to pursue her.
This drove him into a rage of embarrassment.
"For salespeople like you, is the customer is god just an empty phrase? Not to mention that I genuinely intend to buy a car, even if I were merely consulting, you still have the obligation to treat me properly."
Since soft tactics failed, the short, fat man decided to resort to hard ones. Sometimes, threats yielded much more direct results.
"I am a friend of your Boss He. Fortunately, I am not the petty type; otherwise, with just a single phone call to your boss to lodge a complaint against you, you'd probably be fired on the spot."
Faced with the short, fat man's threat, the revulsion in Yin Xiaoya's heart intensified even further. "If you want to complain, go right ahead. I don't feel I've done anything wrong. If the boss insists on firing me, then I'll just switch to another dealership. This isn't some remarkable job worth swallowing my pride for while being harassed."
Yin Xiaoya's look of contempt and blunt words left the short, fat man unable to save face. For half a day, he had exhausted all his methods, yet Yin Xiaoya's attitude toward him had remained consistently polite and distant, and now it had even turned hostile. Since gentle approaches yielded no results, he figured he might as well try a tough approach.
"Since you're so eager to change jobs, I'll grant your wish."
The short, fat man turned his head and called the supervisor over.
After walking over, the supervisor said politely, "Mr. Chang, have you chosen a car model yet? The boss has already instructed that regardless of which car you choose, you are to be given the maximum discount."
"Supervisor Lin, I'm afraid I won't be able to buy this car here." The short, fat man's tone was icy cold.
The moment Supervisor Lin saw the short, fat man's attitude, he knew there was dissatisfaction. "Mr. Chang, if you have any feedback regarding our service, please feel free to voice it. We will definitely make resolute corrections."
"I am extremely unhappy right now. Your dealership is supposed to be in the service industry, but the salespeople's service attitude is simply atrocious. I came here to spend money, not to take abuse from you people," the short, fat man said bluntly.
Supervisor Lin glared at Yin Xiaoya and adopted an even more humble demeanor. "Mr. Chang, failing to train our sales staff properly is my fault. Please state whatever grievances you have. You are our boss's friend; even if we lose money on this sale today, we will make sure you are satisfied."
"I wouldn't go so far as to make you lose money. I'm not that petty."
The short, fat man stated his purpose directly. "Two choices. Choice one: Have Ms. Yin treat me to lunch at noon, and we'll consider the matter settled. Choice two: If Ms. Yin refuses to apologize for her service attitude today, then I believe she is unsuited for this service job. Your dealership shouldn't hold her back; Ms. Yin ought to have a career much better suited to her."
Although the short, fat man's tactics were somewhat despicable, they often proved effective, and he had already experienced success with them several times.
Of course, there were also plenty of failures.
Yet he felt no regret. If he encountered a gold-digger, his money was enough to fulfill his desires. If he met stubborn ones, there was a slim chance that after a round of threats, he could ultimately achieve his goal.
If threatening tactics failed as well, he would simply have to accept it. After all, he wasn't the kind of truly wealthy scion who could do whatever he pleased; if intimidation and enticement proved useless, he had no choice but to let go.
This Mr. Chang was a business partner of the dealership owner, not just an ordinary customer, so Supervisor Lin hesitated not a second in standing by Mr. Chang's side. "Yin Xiaoya, it seems you failed to absorb your training properly. You actually forgot the core service tenet that the customer is god. Hurry up and apologize to Mr. Chang. If Mr. Chang cannot forgive you, then I'm very sorry, but I will have no choice but to fire you."
"Whatever. I'm here to work, not to accept harassment. If this job can't even guarantee the most basic sense of safety, then I have nothing to be nostalgic about," Yin Xiaoya said with absolute resolution, without a trace of hesitation. "Although I'm only an ordinary undergraduate, finding a similar job isn't difficult."
Since Yin Xiaoya had already made her choice, Supervisor Lin had nothing more to say. Just as Yin Xiaoya had pointed out, given her educational background, and particularly her appearance, finding a similar job was exceptionally simple. The decision to fire her truly carried no deterrent effect for Yin Xiaoya.
"Very well, then you won't need to come to work starting right now." Supervisor Lin glanced at his watch. "It's almost time to get off. It's too late for this morning; go down to the finance department in the afternoon to settle your wages."
Having directly made the decision to fire her, Supervisor Lin looked up at the short, fat man and said, "Yin Xiaoya showed disrespect to a customer and has been fired by the company. Mr. Chang, do you have any other requests?"
The short, fat man took one final look at Yin Xiaoya's exquisite visage, knowing the matter was irreversible, and could only say, "Alright, let's leave it at that. I hope your service attitude improves in the future."
Yin Xiaoya cast a look of utter disdain at Supervisor Lin and the short, fat man, said nothing at all, turned on her heel, and walked away with great imposing style.
She would have to come to the finance department to settle her wages in the afternoon anyway, and since Yin Xiaoya didn't have many personal belongings there, there was no need to pack up right this second; she had plenty of time in the afternoon.
She raised her wrist to check her watch. With noon fast approaching, she needed to leave immediately.
Regarding Yin Xiaoya's plight, close colleagues expressed sympathy, while those on bad terms gloated over her misfortune.
Yin Xiaoya did have a few friends; after gathering around to say a few words of comfort, they escorted her out the door.
Xiao Yao attached great importance to today's date. Well before Yin Xiaoya's noon off-work time, Xiao Yao drove over in person to pick her up.
Xiao Yao arrived a little early, parking his car right at the entrance of the 4S dealership without getting out.
A nearby security guard walked over, initially intending to tell Xiao Yao to move his car to a designated parking space and stop blocking the entrance, but upon catching sight of the car emblem, he halted his steps, turned around, and pretended not to see anything.
As a security guard at a car dealership, his knowledge of automobiles naturally far exceeded that of ordinary people. Recognizing the Bugatti emblem, he decided it was best not to meddle.
Someone who could afford a multi-million-dollar luxury car was likely a prominent figure within the provincial elite circle of the wealthy. With such a big shot parking his car right at the entrance, forget about a lowly security guard like himself; even their boss would surely not dare to ask him to move the vehicle.
Xiao Yao's Bugatti was simply too eye-catching. Once parked at the entrance, everyone who laid eyes on it stopped in their tracks to stare for a few extra moments or pull out their smartphones to snap a picture.
After waiting a few minutes, as it was finally nearing the end of the shift, Xiao Yao stepped out of the vehicle and stood before the front end. Holding a bouquet of blue roses, he leaned casually against the car body, radiating an indescribable charm and elegance.
Although it was his first time executing this classic second-generation playboy move, due to Xiao Yao's ultra-handsome appearance, his charm points at that exact moment were off the charts.
Spotting Yin Xiaoya walking out the doors, Xiao Yao raised the bouquet of blue roses in his hand and gave a wave.
With both his car and his person already conspicuous enough, the moment he waved, Yin Xiaoya naturally spotted him at first glance.
Yin Xiaoya had never hidden the fact that she was a gold-digger; she possessed zero resistance against such a high-profile entrance.
In her dreams, similar scenarios had replayed countless times: a Prince Charming driving a luxury car to pick her up from work, cradling roses in his arms, and proactively opening the car door for her.
This was quite literally the ultimate entrance for her ideal boyfriend.
Luxury cars and fresh flowers were romantic enough on their own, but what made it utterly irresistible was that the person holding the flowers happened to be an unimaginably handsome hunk. Combining these factors together formed an absolute killer combination.
Yin Xiaoya's eyes widened, her mouth agape in an expression of sheer disbelief.
The irritation that had plagued her all morning vanished into thin air the second she laid eyes on Xiao Yao.
Suddenly realizing that her posture was utterly unladylike, she hurriedly raised her right hand to cover her mouth.
It wasn't until Xiao Yao waved at her again in greeting that Yin Xiaoya snapped back to reality and hurried forward.
"This is so sudden! Why didn't you give me a heads-up beforehand? I don't even have the slightest preparation," Yin Xiaoya said with a face full of pleasant surprise.
"I happened to have free time, and it was on the way. Since I'm treating you, I naturally have to show a bit of sincerity." Xiao Yao's smile looked radiant and tender.
A warm feeling bloomed in Yin Xiaoya's chest, instantly followed by a sudden hint of bittersweet sorrow. "I never expected you to come pick me up in person. It's too much trouble for you."
"Since I invited you to dinner, I have to show some sincerity at least."
Seeing the corners of Yin Xiaoya's eyes slightly damp, as if she had suffered some grievance, Xiao Yao asked directly, "Did you run into trouble at work? If you're willing to vent, you can tell me about it. Maybe I can help."
Though it was merely a simple sentence, Yin Xiaoya found it deeply heartwarming. At that moment, she felt an overwhelming sense of security—a sensation originally bestowed upon her by her father, which she hadn't possessed ever since her family went bankrupt.
"I just got fired," Yin Xiaoya did not hide it.
"What happened?" Xiao Yao frowned, his tone turning serious.
Yin Xiaoya recounted the events of the morning in detail.
After listening to Yin Xiaoya's narration, Xiao Yao said directly, "Let's go. Come inside with me and take a look. I want to see just whose scion is arrogant enough to pull this."
"Won't this bring trouble for you? If it's troublesome, then forget it. After all, this is just a very ordinary job; finding another similar one isn't hard for me." Facing Xiao Yao, Yin Xiaoya naturally felt deeply insecure, and she didn't want to bring him trouble right after they had met.
"What trouble could this possibly be? You don't need to overthink it; just stand back and watch how I vent your frustration for you." Xiao Yao walked with a rapid pace, exuding imposing momentum and absolute confidence.
Being led forward by the hand by Xiao Yao, Yin Xiaoya felt supremely happy in that instant. Feeling the warmth radiating from his palm, her heart burned fiercely within her chest, feeling as though it might leap right out.
