Chapter Thirty-Five: Let Me Go
The woman Lu Han called Sister Ziting was actually the wife of a distant cousin. That cousin had died several years ago in a construction accident, leaving Ziting a widow. Ziting was naturally fair-skinned, slender, and beautiful. Even before marrying into the family, she was known as the most stunning girl in the village—her looks and figure rivaled any modern model without the slightest inferiority. To marry her, her bride price had been three times higher than anyone else’s.
“Brother, let’s hurry and check! Sister Ziting lives alone and it’s not easy for her. She’s often harassed by those thugs in the village… I’m worried she—”
Lu Hao nodded, “Alright, wait here. I’ll go see what’s happening at Sister Ziting’s house right away.”
Ziting’s home wasn’t far—just three or four houses away. As Lu Hao approached, Ziting’s voice grew louder and more desperate.
“You beast! Let go of me! Shameless animal!”
“I’ll fight you to the end, you brute!”
Someone was trying to violate Sister Ziting!
Lu Hao’s brows shot upright with fury.
Like Zhao Cuihua before, Ziting had always helped his family. Especially during his university years, when his sister was still young and his father bedridden with serious illness, much of the farm work fell to the two widows. Their relationship with his mother and sister was close and affectionate.
“Damn it, which blind bastard dares bully Sister Ziting!”
Lu Hao strode up and kicked the door open.
“Who’s inside?” he roared, stepping in.
Before him stood a delicate, fair-skinned woman, her only attire a simple black lace-trimmed camisole, one strap torn away, exposing her pale shoulder. The deep rise and fall of her bosom beneath the scattered fabric radiated the unique allure of a mature woman.
“Little Lu, you’re here! Save me, someone’s trying to—” Ziting sobbed, throwing herself into Lu Hao’s arms.
Instantly, the soft, cool sensation of her body—like cotton candy and chilled milk—struck Lu Hao’s very soul, making him shudder.
Ziting’s skin was remarkably well cared for.
“Sister Ziting, calm down. Tell me what happened,” Lu Hao asked gently, concern in his eyes.
Ziting wiped her tears, hair disheveled, neck flushed, trembling with fear. She hid behind Lu Hao, pointing toward the open doorway.
“There’s a man inside… he broke into my home, he wants to…”
Lu Hao strode forward and, upon entering, saw not just one man, but three.
“Sun Wenguo! It’s you!” Lu Hao’s eyes flashed with intense hatred.
Sun Wenguo—the spoiled rich kid who had stolen his fiancée Xu Juan!
“Well, what a surprise! Late at night in a widow’s room, and I find you, you useless wretch. Don’t tell me you have something going on with this pretty widow, huh?” Sun Wenguo smirked at Lu Hao, showing no hint of fear.
After all, last time he’d ordered his men to beat Lu Hao nearly to death.
Lu Hao shouted, “Sun Wenguo, you shameless beast, what have you done to Sister Ziting?”
Sun Wenguo’s expression hardened. No matter what, his actions tonight were disgraceful. If word got out, his reputation would be ruined.
Suddenly, Sun Wenguo erupted in anger, “Get it straight—this seductive widow seduced me! Not the other way around.”
Lu Hao quickly glanced at Ziting behind him. Her cheeks were flushed, thighs pressed together, the signs of a woman in heat.
Ziting caught Lu Hao’s suspicious gaze and quickly protested, “Little Lu, you’re mistaken!”
“It was Sun Wenguo who drugged me first, trying to force me to submit. I refused, so he tried to take me by force…”
“I thought he was kindly bringing me some food, but I never imagined his real intentions. If people find out, how could I survive?”
Ziting broke down in tears.
In the countryside, a widow’s reputation was fragile, easily destroyed by gossip. If she were accused of entanglement with a young, newly engaged rich man, the village’s scorn would grow even harsher. Worse than being involved with an older man, such conduct would be seen as damaging Xu Juan’s family’s interests, and the whole of Peach Blossom Village would condemn her.
Lu Hao listened carefully to Ziting’s account and immediately understood.
A surge of intense anger burned through him.
He pointed at Sun Wenguo, “You bastard, you dog! You’ve already gotten engaged to my ex-girlfriend Xu Juan—why do you still pursue the widows of the village?”
“Are you so blinded by lust? So desperate?”
“You truly wear a beast’s heart beneath human skin.”
Lu Hao’s rebuke thoroughly enraged Sun Wenguo.
Sun Wenguo strode forward, grabbing Lu Hao’s collar with one hand, “A worthless fool like you dares to insult me?”
“Don’t you know I could buy your life with just one of my cars?”
“I’ll tell you why I came tonight—because I’ve grown utterly bored with your woman! I’ve tried every position—none of it interests me anymore.”
“She disgusts me, you understand?”
Lu Hao said nothing. He had already pressed record on his phone, capturing every word Sun Wenguo uttered.
He looked at Sun Wenguo’s furious face with disdain, “Sun Wenguo, I advise you to apologize to Sister Ziting immediately and swear never to harass her again.”
“Otherwise, you won’t be walking out of this room on your own two feet.”
Sun Wenguo sneered, shoving Lu Hao.
“You’re threatening me? Teaching me how to act? When I first started running with the big boys, you were still in your mother’s womb sucking amniotic fluid!”
“If you want to die, just say so!”
Sun Wenguo had brought his two henchmen precisely to deal with any unexpected trouble.
