Chapter Fifteen: The Client
At this moment, Sister Chu was also staring intently at Lu Hao. "No matter how much you have, I can take it all. The clients I hold in my hands are far more than you imagine."
Lu Hao replied, "Alright, then let's stick with this price from now on."
Sister Chu shook her head. "Your medicine works exceptionally well. I've had several people test it already."
"There are no side effects whatsoever. One could even call it a purely natural, organic product."
"This sort of thing is very important to me, because it sells for a high price."
Lu Hao was a bit taken aback. "So what are you suggesting?"
Sister Chu said, "If I were only making a profit off your cost margin, I'd be far too greedy."
"Because the profit could end up outstripping your costs. When the sales come in, let's split the profits fifty-fifty."
"But you need to guarantee that you'll supply me steadily for at least three years."
Lu Hao nodded immediately.
To earn steady income, and a considerable sum at that, was far better than working as a doctor at a clinic.
Why not, after all?
As for the costs, truth be told, for seven thousand worth of medicine, Lu Hao had only spent a few hundred on herbs.
Lu Hao thought for a moment, then said, "To be honest, my schedule is pretty tight. I can't run to Blue Rose every day."
"So I'll have Yun Zhao help deliver the medicine, running back and forth. I'll give her ten percent of my profit."
"What do you think?"
Sister Chu nodded immediately. The golden goose was right in front of her; whatever demands he made, she would agree.
"Alright, then Yun Zhao won't need to work as a bartender anymore. She'll be promoted to deputy sales manager."
"She'll focus entirely on the business of this medicine—no, this health supplement," Sister Chu said with a smile.
Sun Yun Zhao, upon hearing Sister Chu's words, clasped her mouth in disbelief.
Deputy manager, with ten percent profit—at least several hundred thousand a year!
Her life might have changed completely in this instant.
For a moment, Sun Yun Zhao couldn't even process whether it was all real.
"Brother Lu, you're giving me all this, but I haven't done anything. Isn't it too much?"
Sun Yun Zhao looked at Lu Hao, her eyes filled with emotion.
She had grown up in poverty; no one had ever been so kind to her.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have ended up with Wu Jian just because he brought her home after she got drunk.
Lu Hao smiled and looked at Sun Yun Zhao. "What's wrong, Yun Zhao? It's nothing."
"Weren't you planning to lend me money? Just for that kindness, you deserve this."
"Besides, we've been friends since childhood. It's nothing."
Sun Yun Zhao bowed deeply to Lu Hao. "Thank you, thank you, Lu Hao. I really don't know what to say."
She wiped away her tears and steadied herself.
Then Sister Chu stepped forward and hugged Sun Yun Zhao, expressing a woman's comfort.
Sister Chu smiled. "Alright, let's skip the small talk. This card holds a deposit of half a million. I need about a million worth of goods now, so I hope you can deliver soon."
With that, she handed Lu Hao a card from the Construction Bank.
Sister Chu said calmly, "I'll send you the password on WeChat. Just check for it."
"This card is for you; from now on, take all your payments from it."
Lu Hao smiled and nodded. "Alright, thank you, Sister Chu."
"Then I won't keep you. Thanks for today—I need to get back to my work."
Sister Chu nodded. "Very well, go on. And Yun Zhao, you don't need to work today. Take the day off and spend some time with Mr. Lu, catch up with him."
"Consider it a holiday," she said, winking at Sun Yun Zhao, as if hinting at something.
"I… I still have some things to take care of. Let me walk you home," Lu Hao said, as Sister Chu left.
Sun Yun Zhao brushed aside the hair on her forehead and smiled. "No need, I don't want to take up your time."
"You go on home yourself. No need to see me off."
Sun Yun Zhao was a sensible woman, knowing Lu Hao had little interest in her, so she said little more.
Besides, she was still wounded and needed time to recover.
The two parted ways not far from the entrance to Blue Rose.
Lu Hao walked home alone.
With half a million in his account, he could finally breathe easy.
All his debts, household expenses, and even his own necessities were resolved.
"With the Azure Dragon legacy, making money will never be a problem again."
"I should go check on Sister Cuihua; her finances are tight lately."
Just then, Zhao Cuihua called.
She said she had stewed a whole pot of old hen, waiting for Lu Hao to come eat.
It was time to buy Sister Cuihua some clothes and give her some living expenses.
She'd helped him and his family often enough.
With this thought, Lu Hao set out immediately.
Just as he reached her door, he heard a frantic cry for help from inside Zhao Cuihua's house.
"Help! Someone save me! Wang Dagou, you beast! After all I've done for you!"
"You animal!"
"It's Sister Cuihua's voice!" Lu Hao was instantly alarmed, rushing inside.
"Could it be that Wang Dagou is trying to harm Sister Cuihua?"
Wang Dagou was the local bully, colluding with the village chief's son, Zhou Run, running rampant and committing every misdeed.
Thinking of this, Lu Hao's anger surged.
"Damn it, he dares bully Sister Cuihua right next door!"
Inside the house, Wang Dagou's face was twisted with malice as he grabbed both of Zhao Cuihua's arms.
"Heh heh! You lusty widow, how long has it been since you had a man? A strong fellow like me comes for you, and you're still not satisfied?"
"If you follow me, you'll eat and drink well, and every night you'll feel like a bride again."
Wang Dagou was drunk, reeking of cheap liquor.
His eyes gleamed with lechery, as if he wanted to strip Zhao Cuihua with his gaze alone.
"Get out! Get away from me!" Zhao Cuihua's face was full of disgust as she struggled, but she was no match for his strength.
"You lusty widow, flirting with that college boy—what good is he? Can he match our stamina?"
"Just try and you'll see."
Seeing Zhao Cuihua resist fiercely, Wang Dagou grew furious, and with a rough yank, tore open her clothes, exposing a swath of her pale shoulder.
