Chapter Nine: Packed Up and Taken Away
"Apologize? I have done nothing wrong—why should I apologize?"
"Why should you apologize? We’ve been married three years and you’ve never worked, you don’t have a penny to your name, yet you act like you’re wealthy. It’s important to know your place. Your family is bankrupt, you’re not the young master you used to be. I thought you’d have matured after three years, but you’re still so childish!"
Yao Qianqian trembled all over. Years of suppressed grievances exploded in an instant.
Her eyes were bloodshot as she looked at Lin Feng, full of sorrow for his misfortune and anger at his lack of ambition.
That look—Lin Feng was all too familiar with it.
In his previous life, Yao Qianqian often regarded him with that gaze, cold and disdainful, endlessly reproaching him.
But now, Lin Feng understood that it was nothing more than the self-deception of a petty soul.
"Childish? The truly childish one is you. All your ambition amounts to nothing more than becoming president of the Yao Corporation; even if you aim a little higher, it’s just to join the upper circles of Binhai City."
"But I have surpassed everything you strive for. One million? I could get tens of millions in an instant. As for a mere Jade Avalokitesvara, if I want it, the Tang family would hand it over to me with utmost respect, free of charge. Do you believe it?"
His words were powerful, yet almost unbelievable.
"Insane! You’re stuck in some fantasy novel! Useless, hopeless!"
Yao Qianqian stared at Lin Feng as if he were mad, her silver teeth clenched so tightly they might shatter.
Just then, her phone rang. She fought back her tears and answered, her voice gentle:
"Wang Jie, senior, I..."
Hearing the tenderness and comfort from the other end, Yao Qianqian could no longer hold back her tears. She covered her face, sobbing as she fled.
Only Lin Feng remained.
"Qianqian, don’t leave! Lin Feng is still waiting for the Tang family to hand over the Jade Avalokitesvara!"
Wang Fan called after Yao Qianqian’s retreating figure, mocking loudly, then turned to Lin Feng with a sneer, clapping sarcastically:
"My, my, Young Master Lin, you really know how to put on a show! Why not claim the entire Tang Commercial Plaza as yours? Hand it over, you say? Do you think the Tang family is so easy to deal with?"
"Fan Fan, what are you saying? Who is our Young Master Lin? He can pluck the moon from the sky, catch turtles from the deep sea—a true immortal! The Tang family? They’re just ants, right, Young Master Lin?"
Zheng Wu and Wang Fan sang in harmony, their sarcasm reaching its peak as they doubled over with laughter.
Even the saleswoman covered her mouth, laughing so hard that tears welled in her eyes.
Faced with their ridicule, Lin Feng showed not the slightest anger—only calm.
He slowly pulled out the Tang emblem jade disk gifted to him by Tang Heniang from his pocket and placed it on the glass counter, speaking coldly:
"Call your manager. I want to buy every item in this store."
At first, the saleswoman was ready to retort, but when her eyes fell on the Tang emblem jade disk, her expression changed instantly—her face pale as gold, her whole body trembling.
When she looked at Lin Feng again, her gaze held only fear and regret.
"Hahaha, calling the manager? Buying everything in the store? Lin Feng, are you out of your mind? Qianqian’s already left because of you, and you’re still pretending."
"Fan Fan, I’ve seen it all now! Young Master Lin, why stop at the manager? Call the head of the commercial plaza!"
Wang Fan and Zheng Wu laughed themselves silly, as if watching a circus act with Lin Feng as the clown.
The saleswoman clung to the counter, trembling as she dialed her phone, her voice choked with tears:
"Manager, please come back quickly. There’s a supreme VIP in the store—and I think I may have offended him!"
"What! Xiao Mo, I really don’t know what to say. No, I must call Manager Tang immediately and report this."
Clearly, as a store manager, she couldn’t bear the responsibility for offending a supreme VIP.
Only the head of the commercial plaza could withstand the wrath of such a guest.
Less than ten minutes later, a middle-aged man in a black suit, hair slicked back, rushed out of the elevator on the eighth floor, panting as he made his way to the store.
Entering, he immediately spotted the Tang emblem jade disk on Lin Feng’s counter.
He hurried over, carefully approaching Lin Feng with respectful deference:
"Excuse me, sir, is this Tang emblem jade disk yours?"
"Yes."
"May I ask, are you Lin Feng, Mr. Lin?"
"I am."
Every holder of the Tang emblem jade disk was a supreme VIP of Tang family businesses.
Memorizing the appearance and information of all supreme VIPs was a required skill for every high-level manager in the Tang family.
Thus, the middle-aged man instantly recognized Lin Feng—the Tang family’s newly appointed top guest.
The miraculous young doctor who had saved Old Master Tang’s life: Lin Feng, Mr. Lin.
"It is indeed Mr. Lin. Please, this way—the VIP reception room is inside."
"No need for that. Just pack up all the precious jade in this store. I’ll take them."
"Certainly. In Tang Jewelry’s shop, there are a total of over 1,800 pieces of jadeite and above, valued at one hundred and ten million. I’ll have them packaged for you immediately."
"Since there’s so much, may I suggest you leave an address? I’ll personally deliver them to you today, saving you the wait."
"Fine. In ten days, deliver them to Tianhe Hotel for the Yao family’s birthday banquet. That’ll save me from carrying them around."
"Very well. It’s my honor to serve you!"
The middle-aged man bowed deeply, full of genuine respect.
Zheng Wu and Wang Fan were stupefied, the items in their hands slipping out as shock overtook them.
Damn, this was the first time they’d seen someone gift a hundred million worth of goods and still call it an honor—how shameless could one get?
Yet reality was staring them in the face, leaving no room for doubt.
"Fan Fan, am I dreaming?"
Zheng Wu was dazed, Lin Feng’s earlier words echoing in his ears.
There really were Tang family members handing over goods free of charge, just as Lin Feng had said!
"By the way, I don’t like that saleswoman. Fire her," Lin Feng said coolly.
"Mo Xiaoyun, you heard him. From today, you’re dismissed. No Tang family business in all of China will hire you again. Go to the finance office for three months’ pay and leave."
The middle-aged manager acted swiftly; Lin Feng’s word was law, and he fired the saleswoman without hesitation.
"Manager... I... I failed to recognize greatness, Mr. Lin, please, I beg you, forgive me!"
The saleswoman collapsed on the floor, her face streaked with tears, her makeup ruined.
Lin Feng glanced at Wang Fan, calm as ever:
"Also, the jade bracelet that woman’s wearing hasn’t been paid for. It’s store property, package it with the rest."
"Yes, Mr. Lin. Please wait."
The middle-aged manager bowed and walked over to Wang Fan, his tone brooking no argument:
"Miss, please remove the jade bracelet. From today, it belongs to Mr. Lin."
Wang Fan shuddered, quickly clutching the bracelet on her wrist.
She had barely warmed it, and now it was to be taken away?
She shook Zheng Wu’s arm, lifting her face, her big watery eyes blinking as she pleaded sweetly:
"Honey, do something! If Lin Feng, that useless loser, takes this bracelet, I’ll break up with you!"
His girlfriend’s coquettish plea stirred Zheng Wu’s blood. He spoke sharply:
"Do you know who I am? I’m Zheng Wu, young master of the Zheng family in Binhai City! I reserved this bracelet and am about to pay for it. How can you just take it away?"
"Zheng family? Zheng Wu? Never heard of you. Should I, Tang Kenian, care?"
Before Zheng Wu, the middle-aged man showed not a hint of servility.
He stood tall, radiating the authority of a seasoned leader, instantly intimidating Zheng Wu.
"Tang Kenian? You’re Tang Kenian!"
Zheng Wu was utterly stunned.
Damn, Tang Kenian might not be widely known, but in the Zheng family, his name was legendary!
Tang Kenian, a branch member of the Tang family, renowned for his abilities, directly managed several Tang assets. The cash flow under his control in a single month equaled the Zheng family’s decades of accumulation!
This unremarkable-looking middle-aged man was a genuine business tycoon!
And such a tycoon was deferential to Lin Feng!
Then Lin Feng must be...
Zheng Wu trembled all over, barely able to imagine the implications of his deduction.
