Chapter 134: Gu Feng Taken Away
Long Wenba’s eyes lit up with a sudden glint. In truth, he feared Elder Bai and dared not speak his mind, for the Long family could not afford to offend him.
Gu Feng, however, was a different matter. Having come from beyond the Great Wilderness and handing out spiritual artifact sets as if they were trifles, it mattered little to the Long family whether he won or lost in a clash with Elder Bai.
Elder Bai was instantly incensed. He slammed the table and glared at Gu Feng, snarling, "Where did this street swindler come from? How dare you pull such a stunt in the Imperial Palace! Long Wenba, are you blind? Why haven't you had him thrown out yet?"
Long Wenba looked at Gu Feng in a difficult spot.
Gu Feng gazed at Hanhan, who was so frightened she had stopped eating, and frowned deeply. "A dark creature, from the snake tribe. I wonder where you found the courage to act so rampantly in the human world."
Upon hearing Gu Feng’s words, a storm raged within Elder Bai’s heart, yet he forced himself to remain calm. He glared at Gu Feng and retorted, "I have no idea what you are talking about." With that, Elder Bai stood up, intending to leave.
Long Wenwu and Long Wenba listened, completely bewildered.
Gu Feng watched the departing Elder Bai and sneered, "What’s the matter? You were quite arrogant a moment ago, full of bluster when you slammed the table. Why the sudden rush to leave now?"
Ignoring Gu Feng, Elder Bai acted as if he were deeply offended and shouted at Long Wenba, "Long Wenba, are you planning to turn against me for the sake of this brat? Do not forget how your Long family ascended to the throne!"
Long Wenba’s face turned ashen. He could not afford to offend either party and struggled to weigh who to side with.
Long Wenwu, sensing his older brother’s dilemma, stood up and said to Elder Bai, "My master said you are not human. If you didn't understand, let me be clear: since you are not human, what is your intention in interfering in the affairs of our race?"
Elder Bai’s body trembled as he stared at Gu Feng. A sinister aura suddenly erupted from him; his eyes glowed with a sickly green light, and his white robes billowed without a breeze.
Long Wenba, who knew Elder Bai well, realized that he was about to strike.
Gu Feng shielded Hanhan and Long Xue'er behind him, redeemed a packet of Revelation Powder, and flung it toward Elder Bai.
As the powder landed, thick smoke billowed from Elder Bai’s body. To the shock of all present, he transformed into a massive black python with glowing green eyes.
Seeing this, everyone except Gu Feng recoiled in terror, their eyes filled with shock and fear.
The giant python flicked its tongue and lunged at Gu Feng with the speed of a black bolt of lightning.
"Ding! The great black python Noke has reached two hundred percent killing intent toward you. Activating the twenty-second level-two Death Contract."
Gu Feng remained unperturbed, watching the approaching Noke with cold indifference. To the others, Gu Feng appeared full of confidence, though his youth left them wondering what the source of that confidence could be.
"Die! You damned human, interfering with my clan's affairs!" (Snake Tongue)
"Stop." (Snake Tongue)
The great black python Noke actually halted, for Gu Feng had spoken in the snake tongue as well.
"Who exactly are you? How do you know the language of the snakes?"
"You talk too much. I only want to tell you one thing: I am about to self-destruct."
Boom!
The onlookers watched as Gu Feng exploded, though the blast radius was precisely contained to envelop only the great black python Noke.
Those who did not know Gu Feng, including Long Wenwu, were left in a state of shock and anxiety.
As the aftershocks of the explosion faded, Gu Feng materialized back in his original spot. He clapped his hands and remarked, "A mere little snake, yet so arrogant."
Those who did not know him stared at him blankly, as if they had seen a ghost.
Gu Feng turned to Hanhan. "Are you still eating? If not, it’s time for bed."
"I want to eat, Master! Hanhan isn't full yet!"
"You little glutton."
Long Wenba finally regained his senses, utterly stunned. "If Elder Bai is a giant black snake, then doesn't that mean Bai Fan and that burly man who were with him are also giant black snakes?"
Gu Feng rolled his eyes at Long Wenba. "You aren't entirely stupid. You were actually going to marry Xue'er off to a giant black snake—I think you've truly lost your mind."
Though the words were harsh, Long Wenba dared not refute them. A youth who could kill Elder Bai in an instant—no wonder his second brother was willing to acknowledge him as master.
Long Wenwu, at this moment, was truly convinced and felt a sense of relief that he hadn't attacked immediately; otherwise, there wouldn't even be scraps left of him.
"Second brother, come with me to slay Bai Fan. As for that burly man, we will need young master Gu Feng to handle him."
Gu Feng rolled his eyes again. "No need. The snake tribe has a shared intuition. Elder Bai’s death has already alerted them; they have long since fled."
"Fled?"
"What a pity. But will they return?"
"The snake tribe is notoriously vengeful. What do you think?"
"Ah! Then isn't my Huanglong Empire in danger?"
"Enough. I will handle this matter. Once you’ve rested, take me to where you first encountered them tomorrow."
"Encountered them? They were the ones who sought us out."
"That only proves their nest is nearby."
"Then it must be in the old city of the Long family. Behind the old city, there is a Ten Thousand Snake Cave. Yes, the Ten Thousand Snake Cave, it must be there!"
"That sounds right. We’ll go tomorrow. I’m a bit tired today."
"But will they come for revenge tonight?"
"If they have the guts to come, let them."
Long Wenba’s face was bitter. He thought to himself, *Your skills are profound, so you are bold, but we are not!*
He then winked at Long Xue'er. A son-in-law this formidable simply had to be secured!
Long Xue'er understood her father’s intent. Her face flushed red as she said to Gu Feng, "Let me take you to your quarters to rest."
"Alright. But what about Hanhan..."
Long Xue'er’s mother interjected, "Hanhan can sleep with me. I’ve grown quite fond of this little girl."
Gu Feng glanced at Long Wenba, wondering where Long Wenba would sleep if Hanhan was with his wife.
Lost in thought, Long Xue'er led Gu Feng into her boudoir.
As they stepped inside, the room was decorated in shades of pink, filled with a pleasant fragrance and dim lighting—the atmosphere was perfect, lacking only music.
"Xue'er, did you take me to the wrong place? This is your bedroom, isn't it?"
Long Xue'er’s face turned bright red. She hugged Gu Feng from behind and whispered, "Gu Feng, thank you for saving me."
Gu Feng could have dodged, but he found himself unable to move.
In the vigor of his youth, having been without such intimacy for a long time, he felt his entire body heat up from her embrace.
Struggling to suppress his urges, Gu Feng gently pried her hands away. "Xue'er, you are a good girl, but I truly have a lover. She left the Great Wilderness and is waiting for me in the outside world, so..."
Long Xue'er’s body trembled, and tears flowed uncontrollably. This was her greatest fear.
She hugged him again, crying, "I don't care! I don't mind. Even if you have a lover, I am willing to be your concubine."
"Sigh, why do you have to do this? I promised Yan'er that I would not take another woman."
"No, no, I won't listen! I want to be your woman."
Long Xue'er clung to Gu Feng, actively kissing the nape of his neck.
Gu Feng’s breathing grew ragged. He turned and pulled her into his arms, on the verge of losing his reason.
Just then, a furious roar echoed from afar: "Who is it? Who killed my kin? Come out and die!"
Hearing that voice, Long Wenba trembled in terror.
