When he first arrived at Class Twenty-One, he spent tens of thousands to treat all fifty classmates to dinner. In the end, not only did the meal fail to achieve his intended purpose, but Mo Sinan felt like nothing more than a simple sponsor, footing the bill for a gathering that seemed to revolve entirely around Class Twenty-One and Zhang Wenhao, as if he himself had no connection to it at all.

Even after the dinner dispersed and he returned to the hotel, Mo Sinan couldn’t shake off his irritation. He was seething, feeling as though he’d been toyed with by Zhang Wenhao time and again, outmaneuvered at every turn, unable to reclaim even a fragment of dignity.

If he’d followed his usual methods, for someone like Zhang Wenhao who repeatedly embarrassed him and made him lose face, there was only one way to deal with it: violence. One call, summoning a few loyal followers who ate at his table, and a beating would have been routine. Even if things escalated, with his background, no one would dare hold him accountable.

But the current situation was more complicated. First of all, he’d been exiled to River City because he’d caused trouble back in Beijing. Though his family had settled the matter, his grandfather was furious with his actions. Sending him to River City was meant to make him restrain himself. If he stirred up more trouble here, it would be impossible to explain to his family. Moreover, there was another factor: he didn’t know the full extent of Zhang Wenhao’s background, but Zhang was Su Ruoran’s boyfriend. If he started an open conflict with Zhang Wenhao, Su Ruoran would never let it go. By then, things would truly get out of hand.

Thinking it over, Mo Sinan was more at a loss than ever. Finding a way to put Zhang Wenhao in his place had become his top priority.

For several days in a row, Mo Sinan found no sense of presence in Class Twenty-One. The day his new car tires were flown in from Beijing, he drove his Ferrari to school, hoping to cause a stir. Aside from a few infatuated girls pursuing him madly, the male classmates all looked at him with clear displeasure. Mo Sinan realized that if he kept this up, he’d provoke the ire of the whole school, so he reluctantly gave up driving to school and took taxis instead, quietly coming and going each day.

That Friday after school, Zhang Wenhao pushed his bike and walked side by side with Su Ruoran through the crowd toward the school gate. They’d arranged to have dinner together at a famous hotpot restaurant in the city that evening.

As they walked together, Su Ruoran asked, “Wenhao, are you going to the gym this weekend?”

Wenhao nodded. “Both days. I’d like to go during the week too, but there’s just no time.”

Su Ruoran laughed. “I’m free Sunday afternoon. How about you take me to see the place?” Zhang Wenhao couldn’t help but smile. “The gym I go to is full of burly guys, not a single girl—just a bunch of muscle-bound men. I’m afraid you’ll find it unbearable.”

“It’s fine,” Su Ruoran said nonchalantly. “I’ll just be there to see you, not them. I won’t get in the way of your training. I can even help wipe your sweat.”

Seeing her serious expression, Zhang Wenhao realized she wasn’t joking and nodded. “Alright, I’ll pick you up Sunday and take you to check it out.”

Su Ruoran nodded happily. At that moment, Mo Sinan suddenly appeared behind them, pretending to be familiar. “Wenhao, you’re into fitness too?”

With hundreds of students streaming out of the school, neither Zhang Wenhao nor Su Ruoran had noticed that Mo Sinan had been walking right behind them. His sudden question made it clear he’d been following for some time.

Zhang Wenhao frowned slightly, then nodded. “Just for fun.”

Mo Sinan laughed heartily. “I work out regularly too—and I’ve been practicing Sanda for years. I haven’t had time to find a gym since coming to River City. Which gym do you go to? Recommend it to me, I’ll check it out.”

Zhang Wenhao saw no reason to hide it. “Luogang Fitness Club on Nanjiang Road.”

Mo Sinan quietly memorized the name and nodded. “I’ll get a membership there tomorrow. Let’s work out together sometime.”

Zhang Wenhao didn’t reply, so Mo Sinan changed the subject. “Wenhao, do you know much about Sanda?”

“Just a bit of the basics,” Zhang Wenhao replied coolly.

Mo Sinan grinned. “We should spar sometime. How about it?”

“Sure,” Zhang Wenhao smiled. “There’s a proper ring at Luogang Fitness Club.”

“All the better!” Mo Sinan laughed. “Let’s meet there then. I’ve got something to do now, you two have a good time.”

With a cheerful wave, Mo Sinan left, but Su Ruoran asked Zhang Wenhao with a smile, “Wenhao, why did you lie to him?”

“What did I lie about?” Zhang Wenhao feigned surprise.

Su Ruoran couldn’t help but laugh. “You said you only know a little about Sanda. Isn’t that a lie? Is that ‘just a little’?”

Zhang Wenhao laughed, knowing she’d seen through him. “What I practice is combat sports, a bit different from Sanda.”

Su Ruoran nodded lightly. “If Mo Sinan sees your true level, he’ll probably hate you to death—he might even cry.”

Zhang Wenhao smiled calmly. “If he leaves me alone, I’ll leave him alone. The initiative is in his hands.”

At that moment, Mo Sinan walked out of the school gate beaming, hailed a taxi, and sat in the back seat with a sinister grin. He thought, “Zhang Wenhao, if I don’t beat the crap out of you in front of Su Ruoran this time, I’ll take your surname!”

Remembering how Zhang Wenhao had repeatedly made him lose face, Mo Sinan had long been plotting to get even. Now, by chance, he’d learned the kid worked out and practiced Sanda too. He couldn’t be happier. In his view, Zhang Wenhao was finally going to fall into his hands.

Though he appeared delicate, Mo Sinan’s body was well muscled beneath his clothes—a classic case of looking slim when dressed, but robust when undressed. With years of obsession with Sanda, trained in Beijing by top professionals, he wasn’t just some skinny student; he could place nationally in youth competitions. Teaching Zhang Wenhao a lesson would be a walk in the park. Best of all, Su Ruoran would be there to watch.

Zhang Wenhao, are you finally going to go down for me this time?

Suddenly, Mo Sinan recalled the Luogang Fitness Club Zhang Wenhao had mentioned and asked the driver, “Do you know Luogang Fitness Club in River City?”

“Sure,” the driver replied indifferently. “It’s on Nanjiang Road.”

Having bottled up his frustration for days, Mo Sinan was thrilled at the prospect of revenge. He blurted out, “Don’t go to Wanda Plaza—take me to Luogang.”

What Zhang Wenhao didn’t expect was that Mo Sinan, by Friday afternoon, had already signed up for a membership at Luogang Fitness Club, just waiting to meet him there on Sunday.

On Saturday, Zhang Wenhao went to Luogang Fitness as usual. After greeting a few acquaintances, he started training at three in the afternoon and continued until eight in the evening before heading home. He was already experienced: even after five hours of intense training, a night’s sleep would see his strength fully restored by the next day.

On Sunday afternoon, Zhang Wenhao first took a taxi to Su Ruoran’s house, then went with her to Luogang Fitness Club. Zhang Wenhao only had one membership card, but the girl at the front desk was accommodating; when Zhang Wenhao said Su Ruoran was his girlfriend, she knowingly nodded and let them both in.

Su Ruoran had heard Zhang Wenhao talk about the place, but only after arriving did she realize that, aside from the two girls at the reception, everyone inside was male. Not only were the fitness enthusiasts training in shorts and vests, but a group of Sanda practitioners were shirtless, working bags near the ring.

Su Ruoran felt a bit awkward. “There really isn’t a single girl here…”

Wenhao nodded. “It’s all fitness buffs here, doing high-intensity training. That group over there is the club owner’s Sanda team—no women’s programs at all.”

Su Ruoran stuck out her tongue. “But there’s got to be a ladies’ restroom, right?”

Zhang Wenhao laughed. “No, the changing room, restroom, and showers are all for men.”

Su Ruoran was so surprised she was speechless. Zhang Wenhao quickly reassured her, “There’s a staff restroom, usually for the two girls at reception. That’s basically the women’s room.”

Su Ruoran finally relaxed. “You scared me…”

Zhang Wenhao led her toward the changing rooms. There was a lounge sofa at the entrance, and he gestured for her to wait there while he changed. Several acquaintances saw Zhang Wenhao come in with a stunning girl and couldn’t help teasing, “Hey, Little Power King, bringing your girlfriend today?”

Zhang Wenhao smiled and nodded in greeting. “She wanted to see the place, so I brought her. But you all better behave yourselves—no taking off your shirts, or you’ll scare her with all those lumps of muscle.”

One of the men laughed, “What’s the use of all that muscle? Still, you’re stronger than any of us even though you look like a stick. What are you training today?”

“Bench press first,” Zhang Wenhao replied with a smile. “Good for upper body strength.”

“How much weight are you starting with?”

“One sixty to start, see if I can push to two hundred.”

As Su Ruoran settled onto the sofa, Zhang Wenhao went into the changing room.

Outside, the others exchanged glances. One stuck out his tongue. “One hundred sixty kilos to start? That’s nearly triple his body weight. Is he exaggerating?”

The one who’d greeted Zhang Wenhao laughed. “You weren’t here yesterday, so you didn’t see how monstrous Little Power King is. One sixty is nothing for him. Two hundred kilos, though—I’m not sure. If he can do twenty reps at that weight, that’s world-class professional level. With his muscle strength, it’s already elite.”

Brothers, I’m begging for subscriptions, monthly votes, and support! There’s more to come tonight—are you still there? To be continued.
