The Seventh Prince spoke to Tao Ming with an air of seriousness, “Were you ever blind for a period of time?”

Tao Ming found this strange. “What do you mean?”

“If you weren’t, how could you possibly be interested in him?”

Tao Ming couldn’t help but laugh. “Su Nanxing looks quite good!”

The Seventh Prince raised his brows in surprise. “I’m much more handsome than he is. Can’t you see that?”

Su Nanxing declared triumphantly, “In Tao Ming’s eyes, there’s only me. She can’t recognize anyone else.”

A suspicion immediately took root in Tao Ming’s heart. She grabbed Su Nanxing’s arm and said word by word, “Did you do something to me?”

“No, darling!”

“Confess and you’ll be treated leniently. Resist and you’ll be dealt with harshly!”

“I’ll talk, I’ll talk! Just let go first!”

Tao Ming released him, watching Su Nanxing expectantly.

Rubbing his arm, Su Nanxing replied cautiously, “Since I had to leave you and Ruanruan for a while, I was afraid you’d run off with someone else. So I put a little spell on your eyes. Except for those closest to you, everyone else appears only as a vague outline.”

Tao Ming rolled her eyes. “No wonder I thought my face-blindness came and went.”

“I was just worried you’d run away with someone else.”

Tao Ming huffed, “We’re divorced. Who I run off with is none of your business!”

“Darling, I have my reasons!”

“Then go live with your reasons.”

“Darling...”

“Enough nonsense—hurry up and remove whatever you put on my eyes!”

Su Nanxing didn’t dare delay for even a second. He stood before Tao Ming and said, “Close your eyes.”

Obediently, Tao Ming shut her eyes. Su Nanxing gazed at her, her features now clearer and more defined than ever, and his heart began to race. He gently wrapped an arm around her waist and softly pressed his lips to hers.

The onlookers who had gathered to watch the drama whispered, “In broad daylight, right under the heavens...”

Tao Ming felt the familiar kiss, a jolt of electricity coursing from the crown of her head through her entire body, finally clenching tightly around her heart. She opened her eyes and shoved Su Nanxing away. “You scoundrel!”

Su Nanxing immediately clung to her and wouldn’t let go. “That’s how you break the spell. Now, look at the people around you.”

Tao Ming craned her neck to look at the people nearby. This handsome man must be the Seventh Prince; this unremarkable one must be Mu Zhong; this cold, ice-like man she didn’t recognize; that fierce-looking one was also a stranger. After scanning the group, her gaze landed back on the Seventh Prince. Fair skin, sword-like brows, starry eyes, a high nose with sensual lips beneath—after a moment’s careful appraisal, she said, “You really are quite handsome! If you went to another world, you’d be rich just on your looks.”

Su Nanxing’s alarms went off. “Darling, you’re being fickle!”

At this, the Seventh Prince, who had been cursing Su Nanxing for his shamelessness, looked surprised and asked, “What does ‘handsome’ mean?”

Tao Ming studied him again. “It means good-looking—very good-looking.”

A broad and sunny smile spread across the Seventh Prince’s face.

Su Nanxing turned Tao Ming’s face back toward himself. “Darling, you’re being unfaithful!”

Tao Ming wriggled out of his arms, pushing on his chest to keep him at bay. “Unfaithful? That’s my cousin, you know?”

Su Nanxing relaxed; as a modern woman, Tao Ming would never get involved with a cousin.

He then flattered the Seventh Prince. “Cousin, you really are handsome!”

The Seventh Prince rolled his eyes, thinking Su Nanxing truly had no shame.

Tao Ming’s arms were getting tired from pushing, and she said coldly, “Su Nanxing, let’s have a proper talk.”

Su Nanxing played the rogue as always. “Darling, I think about you every day!”

Tao Ming snorted. “Thinking about how to kill us?”

Su Nanxing quickly changed the subject. “Where’s Ruanruan?”

Tao Ming looked around; this wasn’t a good place for Ruanruan to appear. “Your Highness, is there a suitable place?”

The Seventh Prince glanced at the sky. “Let’s enter the city first.”

Tao Ming eyed the half-destroyed carriage worriedly. “Is it far?”

Qin Sihou stepped forward. “I have a few dragon-horses.”

Su Nanxing quickly tried to please her. “I brought even more dragon-horses.”

They gathered all the horses, totalling more than twenty. After a discussion, Qin Sihou and the Seventh Prince decided to have some guards accompany them, disguising their group as a merchant caravan to enter the city, while the rest would enter separately and meet at the teleportation array the next morning.

Tao Ming stared at the towering dragon-horses, troubled. “I can’t ride... If I’d known, I would have brought an off-road vehicle!”

Su Nanxing leapt onto a horse and extended his hand. “But I can!” He thought, whether he could win her over depended on this moment.

Glancing around, Tao Ming realized it wouldn’t be appropriate to ride with anyone else, so she took Su Nanxing’s hand and let him pull her up.

Once astride the horse, she realized sitting sidesaddle in a skirt was terribly inconvenient. She said, “Wait a second,” and entered her storage space to change into a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. The others waiting nearby stared in shock—what kind of outfit was that? Strange, yet refreshingly neat!

Su Nanxing held Tao Ming in front of him with one arm, lamenting inwardly that it didn’t feel as good as before. He cautioned her, “Be careful not to fall.”

Tao Ming wriggled her waist and mumbled her assent.

The Seventh Prince turned his face away and ordered in a low voice, “Let’s go.”

Su Nanxing deliberately lagged behind, letting the dragon-horse amble along as he held Tao Ming tightly, resting his head on her shoulder and softly calling, “Darling,” then again, “Darling.”

Every time Tao Ming heard him, her heart trembled. She silently scolded herself for being so weak, and pinched Su Nanxing’s hand hard—again and again—until tears began to fall.

Su Nanxing noticed she was crying, stopped the horse, and tried to turn her toward him.

Tao Ming stubbornly resisted, refusing to turn, until Su Nanxing grunted in pain. Instantly, Tao Ming turned to him and asked, “What’s wrong? When you kissed me just now, I smelled blood.”

Seeing his plan had worked, Su Nanxing put on a pained expression. “When I found out you were the targets, I coughed up blood.”

Tao Ming hurriedly looked him up and down. “Coughing blood? Is it that serious?”

Su Nanxing pulled her into his arms and kissed her. “A kiss will make it better.”

Tao Ming struggled, slapping and pinching him, but her resistance grew weaker. In the end, she simply leaned against him, eyes closed, lost in the familiar kiss.

As the Seventh Prince realized they’d fallen behind, he grew concerned for their safety and doubled back, only to see them locked in an embrace, kissing under the gentle moonlight—a scene as beautiful as a painting.

The Seventh Prince pursed his lips, thinking, some people’s shamelessness knows no bounds.

Annoyed, he raised his voice, “Tao Ming, he’s here to kill you!”

Su Nanxing had already sensed the Seventh Prince’s approach, but after such a long separation from his wife, he was determined to make the most of it.

Tao Ming turned her head, a hint of joy in her voice. “He didn’t know it was me.”

With that, she gave Su Nanxing a light peck on the lips, then settled comfortably in his arms. “Let’s go, I’m starving.”

Su Nanxing’s vanity was thoroughly satisfied. He nudged the horse into a brisk trot.

The Seventh Prince rode alongside, exasperated. “Tao Ming, there are plenty of men in Weishui better than him.”

Tao Ming’s cheerful voice drifted back, “But I like his shamelessness.”

Su Nanxing bent to kiss her hair. “I’m shameless only for you.”

The Seventh Prince was speechless.

Fine, why bother with them?

Luckily he’d never developed feelings for Tao Ming—otherwise, he’d be heartbroken.

Su Nanxing, in high spirits, urged the horse to go faster, making Tao Ming squeal and leaving the Seventh Prince far behind.

The Seventh Prince smiled and followed at a distance, hearing Tao Ming’s voice drift back, “He really is handsome!”

Followed by Su Nanxing’s retort, “What good is being handsome? He’s still single!”
