Chapter 147: Breaking Away from the Su Family

The Seventh Prince walked toward the main room, saying, "Let Mingming lie down; I will go find her aunt."

Su Nanxing carried Tao Ming into the side chamber and laid her on the bed. His heart ached as he looked at the lifeless Tao Ming. Soon, Tao Sisi walked in, asking urgently, "What happened to Mingming?"

Su Nanxing was too ashamed to speak, so the Seventh Prince sighed, "Mingming has had a miscarriage. Aunt, do you have any way to help?"

Tao Sisi pulled out a bottle of medicine and said, "Both of you, wait outside."

Su Nanxing wanted to stay with Tao Ming: "Mother..."

The Seventh Prince pulled him out of the bedroom.

Tao Sisi removed Tao Ming's clothes, dissolved the pill in water, and let it flow into Tao Ming's body along her thigh, circulating it to bring out a small amount of tainted matter. The unconscious Tao Ming shuddered a few times before returning to peace. Tao Sisi cleaned the bloodstains from Tao Ming’s body with fresh water, changed the bedding, and turned to leave the bedroom.

The three sat in the living room. Tao Sisi suppressed her anger: "Speak."

The Seventh Prince gave a detailed account of the entire event. Tao Sisi closed her eyes and said, "I am also to blame; I should not have let Mingming attend that lotus-viewing banquet."

The Seventh Prince left behind a single sentence, "I want to watch it personally," and turned to leave.

Su Nanxing mounted his dragon horse and galloped to the Su Estate. Upon entering the main room of Weixiang Courtyard, he saw Su Xi kneeling before Su Yanfeng and Qiao Ruowei.

Su Nanxing stood beside Su Xi: "Father, Mother, Mingming has had a miscarriage and is unconscious."

Su Xi pressed her forehead to the floor: "I know I was wrong."

Qiao Ruowei’s face was cold as frost: "Seventeen, was Tao Ming defiled?"

A chill went through Su Nanxing’s heart, and his voice carried anger: "Mother, Qiao Kongqing is a man of honor; he did not touch a single hair on Mingming."

Qiao Ruowei said suspiciously, "Qiao Kongqing has always been close to Tao Ming; given such an opportunity, how could he remain unmoved?"

"Mother, Su Xi also saw the situation at the time." Su Nanxing looked at Qiao Ruowei, never having felt she was so much a stranger.

Su Xi steeled herself and said, "Tao Ming was lying naked with the Seventh Prince at the time, so presumably..."

Su Nanxing was furious: "Even now you are smearing Mingming? Do you have any conscience at all?"

Su Xi knew there was no turning back: "The facts are as they are; how could I lie to Father and Mother?"

"Do you dare to swear an oath?" Su Nanxing knew the priority was to clear Tao Ming's name.

Su Xi, who had always cherished her life, lunged forward and grabbed Qiao Ruowei’s legs: "Mother, every word I say is true."

Qiao Ruowei reached a conclusion: "Tao Ming was locked in a room with the Seventh Prince for nearly half an hour; her purity is already ruined."

Su Nanxing grabbed Su Xi’s arm and headed out: "I will give Mingming an explanation."

Su Xi struggled violently: "Father, Mother, save me!"

Qiao Ruowei waved her hand, releasing a bolt of lightning: "Seventeen, if you take one step out of this room, I will pretend I never gave birth to you."

A white light ignited on Su Nanxing’s body. The lightning hit the light and bounced back onto Su Xi’s right leg. Su Xi screamed as her entire right leg turned to charcoal.

Seeing Su Nanxing continue to walk out, Qiao Ruowei raged, "You don't want your children anymore?"

Su Nanxing looked back and saw Qiao Ruowei holding Ruantian and Nuonuo by their necks. The two little ones' faces quickly turned blue, their limbs flailing in the air as they struggled. He immediately dropped Su Xi and walked to Qiao Ruowei: "Mother, I never knew you were such a cold-blooded, venomous person."

Qiao Ruowei tightened her grip, and the two children gradually stopped moving: "It's just a woman; you can always marry another."

White flames surged from Su Nanxing’s hands, burning toward Qiao Ruowei’s hands. Su Yanfeng threw wooden sticks one after another to block the path, saying, "You are no match for us; stop now."

Su Nanxing sneered, the flames intensifying as they lunged straight at Qiao Ruowei. Su Xi seized the opportunity to crawl toward the door, shouting, "Su Nanxing has gone mad! He dares to kill his own parents!"

A white light shone on Qiao Ruowei, but she exclaimed in shock, "It’s useless!"

The white flames engulfed Qiao Ruowei's hands. Feeling unbearable pain, she couldn't help but release the two children. Su Nanxing caught them, turned to knock Su Xi unconscious, stuffed her into a living-creature bag, and headed straight for the Zhaixing Courtyard.

Placing the two children on the bed, Su Nanxing fed them each a pill. Seeing the dark blue finger marks on their necks, his heart was severely wrenched. "I am really leaving."

Su Luo continued, "Is there no room for compromise?"

Su Nanxing was filled with indignation: "My two daughters were hung in the air, held by the throats by their own grandmother. You tell me if there is room for compromise?"

Su Luo looked at the finger marks on the children's necks, secretly shocked: "Mother did it for your own good."

"There is nothing more to say." Su Nanxing walked away.

Su Luo activated the Su family’s Execution Array: "Seventeen, you forced me to do this."

White light shone on Su Nanxing’s body. The various attacks from the Execution Array met the white light like raindrops falling into a pond, causing only a slight ripple. Carrying the weight of the Su family’s array, he reached the front courtyard, where he picked up Wen Youfang and her son, allowing Wen Youfang to take the two children into the living-creature bag.

Su Yanfeng and Qiao Ruowei stood before the main gate. Qiao Ruowei’s hands were covered in ointment, showing only some redness and swelling.

The two watched as Su Nanxing walked toward them step by step. Qiao Ruowei called out with tears in her eyes: "Seventeen..."

Qiao Ruowei turned to Su Yanfeng: "Old man, tell him the truth!"

Su Yanfeng dismissed the outsiders and said in a deep voice, "Seventeen, Father can let you bring Tao Ming into the family, provided you hand over Ruantian to me to deal with."

Su Nanxing recalled when a red eye appeared on Tao Ming’s forehead, a similar one had appeared on Ruantian’s forehead for an instant. He realized the same thing had happened this time and had been seen by Su Yanfeng and Qiao Ruowei.

Su Nanxing took a deep breath and said, "Ruantian is my daughter. I will never hand her over to anyone."

Su Yanfeng unfolded a yellowing piece of white cloth, upon which a hideous demon with a pair of evil red eyes on its forehead was drawn.
