Chapter 159: Cohabitation Mission Accomplished
Now, the fact that the Red Fruit Video Supply Company was willing to supply goods was the best proof possible.
Right in front of Su Qingli, Jiang Hao directly discussed various terms of cooperation with the other party. After agreeing on the price of the ingredients, the duration of the cooperation was tentatively set for one month.
"Alright, that settles it. Tomorrow morning, the Red Fruit Food Supply Company will ship all the fresh vegetables and meat to Maple Leaf City, and I've already sent the specific addresses of our three shops there," Jiang Hao said with a smile, hanging up the phone and looking at Su Qingli.
Su Qingli didn't need Jiang Hao to explain; she had heard the entire conversation with the head of the Red Fruit Food Supply Company, as Jiang Hao had spoken right in front of her.
"That's wonderful, no need to worry anymore."
Su Qingli said happily, a radiant smile blooming across her face.
Seeing Su Qingli's sweet smile, Jiang Hao felt his heart skip a beat.
"It's almost time to get off work. Shall we go home?"
"Should we go to your place now? My things are still at the hotel..."
"We can pack them later."
Jiang Hao could hardly wait.
Without staying any longer at the headquarters of Qingli Health Diet Company, Jiang Hao took Su Qingli by the hand downstairs and drove back to the East Suburb Villa.
Counting the days, it had been quite a while since Jiang Hao last stayed at the villa.
Ever since he started helping Su Qingli take care of the shops, he had been inseparable from her—first staying together at the shop, then sleeping at the hotel, and now finally returning to his own home.
Upon entering the villa, Su Qingli looked a bit reserved.
After all, this villa was a rather unfamiliar environment to her, and her previous visits here held some unpleasant memories with Jiang Hao.
Stepping back into this place now, she naturally felt a mix of lingering emotions.
"Have a seat, I'll make you some tea," Jiang Hao said with a smile, gesturing for Su Qingli to sit down before turning on the one-hundred-inch LCD television for her.
Of course, Jiang Hao didn't turn on the TV for Su Qingli to watch—he knew she wasn't particularly fond of television. The main purpose of turning it on was to liven up the atmosphere.
Otherwise, the house would be too quiet, making the atmosphere feel rather awkward.
Jiang Hao went to the kitchen to boil some water and brewed a strong cup of chrysanthemum and red date tea for Su Qingli.
"Thank you," Su Qingli said as she took the cup of tea.
Jiang Hao smiled bitterly and said, "Why are you being so polite? You're not a guest. From now on, this is our home, and you are the mistress of this house."
"You didn't say that when I came here before. I remember you explicitly telling me that this house had nothing to do with me," Su Qingli said quietly, holding her teacup.
Jiang Hao's expression instantly froze.
Rubbing his nose awkwardly, he said, "We were having a disagreement back then..."
After a brief pause, Jiang Hao perked up and said with a smile, "Qingli, we are a legal married couple. Even though I bought this house on my own, as long as we live here together for over five years, half of it becomes yours. That's what the law in our country stipulates, so don't worry."
Su Qingli lowered her head slightly and remained silent, perhaps feeling a bit embarrassed.
With a solemn expression, Jiang Hao added, "So, your next task is to live here for a full five years, understood?"
"Yes..."
Su Qingli found it quite amusing, but her heart felt warm as well. She knew Jiang Hao said this just to be considerate of her feelings.
After chatting in the living room for a while, Jiang Hao said to Su Qingli, "You watch TV here, I'll go make dinner."
"Let me help you," Su Qingli said, setting down her teacup and standing up.
"No need, I've got it. You just arrived today, how can I let you cook?" Jiang Hao said earnestly.
"But I'm the mistress of the house," Su Qingli said with a teasing smile.
These were the exact words Jiang Hao had just used. Now that Su Qingli was throwing them back at him, Jiang Hao was left speechless.
"Alright then, you can help me. We'll cook together."
With that, Jiang Hao took an apron off the hook in the kitchen, walked over, and tied it around Su Qingli's waist.
As he tied the apron, Jiang Hao muttered, "My clothes are cheap street finds—if they get dirty, they get dirty. Your clothes are designer brands, so you need to take better care of them."
Hearing this, Su Qingli burst into laughter.
Once the apron was tied, Jiang Hao turned on the faucet to wash his hands, while Su Qingli opened the refrigerator door.
Seeing the completely empty fridge, Su Qingli frowned and said, "You call this making dinner? There's nothing in your fridge at all. Are we supposed to cook air?"
Only then did Jiang Hao remember that ever since he started living with Su Qingli at the shop, he hadn't bought any groceries, so it was no surprise the fridge was bare.
"Wait here for a moment, I'll go buy some right now. There's a supermarket nearby."
"I'll go with you," Su Qingli said immediately.
Jiang Hao instinctively wanted to refuse, wanting to let Su Qingli rest and feel his care, but remembering her earlier remark about being the mistress of the house, he quickly stopped himself.
"Alright then, let's go together. Husband and wife grocery shopping," Jiang Hao joked.
Su Qingli's cheeks flushed slightly, but she didn't act coy at all. She untied the apron and went out with Jiang Hao to buy groceries at the nearby supermarket.
The supermarket wasn't particularly large, since this was the suburbs rather than the downtown area.
Living in the suburbs had this one drawback: while the air was fresh and the environment quiet, the surrounding amenities couldn't compare to the bustling city center.
Moreover, Jiang Hao didn't live in a residential compound or a gated villa complex, but in a standalone villa, meaning public amenities were practically nonexistent nearby.
However, though the supermarket was small, it had everything they needed.
Jiang Hao pushed the shopping cart, slowly following behind Su Qingli as she walked down the aisles, picking and choosing items while occasionally asking for his opinion.
The two of them didn't look like a couple who had once been on the verge of divorce at all; instead, they looked like a harmonious and loving pair of sweethearts.
At the checkout counter, Jiang Hao pulled out his wallet and said, "I'll pay."
"Let me pay," Su Qingli shook her head.
"I have money," Jiang Hao insisted.
Su Qingli smiled and said, "Don't I have money too? I'm a CEO now!"
Jiang Hao smiled and nodded, but right at that moment, a young man carrying a large bag of instant noodles suddenly cut in line right in front of him and Su Qingli.
Su Qingli frowned instantly, but before she could say anything, Jiang Hao tapped the young man on the shoulder.
"What!"
The young man turned around, looking at Jiang Hao impatiently.
Jiang Hao reminded him calmly, "Brother, you cut in line."
"Did I cut in line? Who saw me cut in line? Who saw it!"
The young man shouted loudly.
