Chapter 133: Insidious and Cunning
Retaliation through force is proving to be incredibly difficult.
How, then, should he avenge his son? How could he make that detestable Jiang Hao pay the price?
Just then, Pan Yixuan leaned in with a fawning smile and said to Yang Yunhua, "Master Yang, are you aware that Jiang Hao's wife is Su Qingli, the daughter of the Su family?"
"Of course I am aware of that," Yang Yunhua replied bluntly.
As the head of the Yang family, he was not entirely cut off from the outside world; he had heard of the events unfolding in Maple Leaf City. He did not need Pan Yixuan to explain that Jiang Hao was the Su family’s live-in son-in-law and the husband of the heiress, Su Qingli.
"Master Yang, there is one more thing you might not know: Jiang Hao and Su Qingli have opened a restaurant in the city called the Health and Wellness Therapy Shop. Since we cannot use force to retaliate, we can at least use economic means to sanction them. If we make it impossible for their business to survive, making it impossible for them to remain in Maple Leaf City, they will have no choice but to come begging for your forgiveness. Once that happens, you can deal with them however you see fit."
This scheme immediately brought a sense of vindictive satisfaction to Yang Yunhua. He turned to Pan Yixuan and said coldly, "You are truly a sinister and cunning villain."
"However, I like this plan. I accept it!"
Pan Yixuan was overjoyed and quickly bowed, "Master Yang is truly brilliant; you have my deepest admiration!"
Two days passed.
Jiang Hao accompanied Su Qingli to the Maple Leaf City Business Administration Bureau to register the "Qingli Health and Wellness Therapy Company" and its trademark. With this, Su Qingli became the legal representative and the executive CEO of the company. The startup capital of twenty million was the exact amount Zhao Tianlong had paid as compensation to Su Qingli and Jiang Hao. This money was put to excellent use.
However, registering the company did not mean they could immediately expand. Opening branches required selecting locations, leasing storefronts, and recruiting new staff and management. Because the company was still small, managing it was not yet difficult enough to require leasing office space for a headquarters, but there was no doubt that the day would eventually come.
"I’m so excited..."
Walking down the street, Su Qingli said with great enthusiasm. Her beautiful cheeks were flushed with excitement, making her look like a ripe Fuji apple, so tempting that Jiang Hao almost wanted to take a bite.
"As long as you’re happy. But once the company is established, you’ll find yourself busier every day," Jiang Hao said thoughtfully.
Su Qingli didn't mind at all. She loved the feeling of being busy and the sense of fulfillment that came with working. Back when she was a department manager at the Su family’s traditional medicine company, she would arrive early and stay late every day. She didn't have to—after all, she was a member of the Su family; who would dare criticize, fire, or harass her? But she simply loved that busy, fulfilling feeling, which was why she was always so proactive. And that was not to mention that now, she was working for herself!
"Thank you, Jiang Hao. Without your help, I never would have made it this far," Su Qingli said, gripping his hand tightly.
Jiang Hao smiled bitterly at her. "Why the thanks? We are husband and wife; isn't this what I’m supposed to do for you? Besides, once your business grows, you’ll be a big boss, and I won’t have to do anything—you can just support me."
Hearing Jiang Hao say he wanted her to support him made Su Qingli feel incredibly hopeful. Of course she wanted to be a powerful businesswoman. Compared to being supported by a man, she wanted to be the one to support him—that would be cool and sophisticated!
Su Qingli clenched her fist and gave a little wave. "Fine, I will do my absolute best to make it big and support you as soon as possible!"
"I'll look forward to it, my dear wife," Jiang Hao said playfully.
He then changed the subject. "Qingli, look, now that your company is registered, once the branches are open, you won't need to stay at the restaurant all day, so..."
"So what?" Su Qingli looked at him, confused.
"So, could you move in with me?" Jiang Hao asked, feeling somewhat hesitant and embarrassed. He knew that no matter how he phrased it, it sounded like an invitation to cohabit.
After a pause, he quickly added, "Of course, I don't mean living together in that sense, just... staying in the same place. Living in the therapy shop is really inconvenient, and the quality of life is too poor."
He continued, "Qingli, life isn't just about making money; it’s about living. Money is just a prerequisite for a good life. If you sacrifice your life just to make money, isn't that putting the cart before the horse?"
His words made sense. Su Qingli thought for a moment and said, "After all that, you just want me to move in with you, don't you?"
"Hehehe..." Jiang Hao scratched the back of his head, using a grin to hide his awkwardness.
Su Qingli let out a soft sigh and said quietly, "Jiang Hao, give me a little more time, okay? I’m not mentally prepared yet."
Jiang Hao felt a slight pang of disappointment. However, he could tell that her resolve was no longer as firm as it had been. Previously, when he had asked her to move in, she would refuse immediately, without a second thought. Now, she had actually considered it, and her tone was gentle rather than a flat rejection. This was a huge step forward for their relationship!
After the initial disappointment, he felt encouraged again. "Alright, I'm not in a rush. Take your time thinking about it," he said with a smile.
Su Qingli nodded, smiling back.
The streets were bustling with people and traffic. Although it was noisy, there was a rich sense of everyday life. Suddenly remembering something, Su Qingli said, "Jiang Hao, we haven't gone shopping together in a long time. Why don't we close the shop today and just enjoy the day?"
"That sounds great!"
It was a wonderful suggestion, and Jiang Hao agreed immediately. Even though he wasn't particularly fond of shopping, as long as he was with Su Qingli, he wouldn't have a single complaint.
