Ji Yanli looked expectantly at Yun Suisui behind the curtain and asked tentatively, “Do you know the blogger Peace Every Year?”
Yun Suisui’s palms were sweating nervously. She lowered her voice. “No.”
A trace of disappointment entered Ji Yanli’s eyes. Now that he heard her voice, she did not sound quite so similar after all.
Ji Junmo took a sip of tea. “I heard your insomnia has been cured?”
Ji Yanli leaned back in his chair, looking utterly carefree. “It’s better, but not completely cured.”
Ji Junmo glanced at his watch, then picked up his phone and the contract before rising. “I have something to attend to. I’ll be going.”
With that, Ji Junmo turned and left.
Thinking of Yun Suisui, Ji Yanli felt a vague irritation stirring in his mind.
“Hey, what’s your name? Come out and talk to me.” Ji Yanli looked toward Yun Suisui behind the curtain.
System: Host, don’t come out! This is not the right time for you two to meet. Although you’re not as fat as you used to be, you’re still fat!
Yun Suisui disagreed with the system. She took a deep breath and told herself not to be nervous. As long as she lowered her voice, he would not recognize her.
She stood up and slowly walked from behind the curtain to Ji Yanli.
“Sir, my name is Yun Suisui. I came here to work part-time at this teahouse.” She deliberately lowered her voice, but it still sounded somewhat like her natural voice.
“Suisui?” Ji Yanli raised an eyebrow. There was a hint of amusement in his voice as he repeated the name.
“Yes. Yun, as in clouds; Suisui, as in the passing years.” Yun Suisui continued speaking in a lowered voice.
“Suisui.” Ji Yanli repeated it unconsciously. Her name also contained the character for “years,” though her voice was more pleasant than the Suisui standing before him.
A faint blush spread across Yun Suisui’s snow-white face. Why was this man repeating someone’s nickname twice?
“You have a lovely name.” Ji Yanli studied Yun Suisui standing before him. She was rather cute, unlike the heiresses from those prestigious families.
Yun Suisui stood perfectly straight, her head lowered as she dared not look at Ji Yanli.
“Raise your head.” Ji Yanli’s voice carried an unquestionable authority.
Yun Suisui slowly lifted her head and looked at him.
Their eyes met.
When Ji Yanli saw her beautiful eyes, a flash of astonishment crossed his face.
“How long have you been working here?”
Yun Suisui swallowed. The man before her was far too handsome, and her face flushed even more deeply. “Sir, today is my first day.”
“Search for Peace Every Year on the DY app. Your voice sounds very much like hers. It’s pleasant to listen to.”
“I-I understand.” Yun Suisui answered nervously.

Ji Yanli frowned. “Let me ask you this. If someone asked you out twice and you turned them down both times, what would you be thinking? That you didn’t want to see them, that you didn’t like them, or that you hated them?”
Yun Suisui glared at Ji Yanli. What kind of choices were those?
Ji Yanli did not feel offended. On the contrary, he thought Yun Suisui seemed more lively this way.
“If it were me, I wouldn’t dare.” There was a hint of sadness in Yun Suisui’s voice.
“You wouldn’t dare? Why not?” Ji Yanli looked her up and down, unable to find anything wrong with her.
“I’m sorry, but that’s private. I’d rather not answer.” Yun Suisui lowered her head and swallowed.
Ji Yanli took a card from his pocket and placed it on the table. Then he stood and looked down at Yun Suisui. “There’s one hundred thousand yuan on this card. Consider it a tip.”
Yun Suisui felt as though a shadow had fallen over her. The enormous difference in their heights left her with no choice but to look up at him.
She picked up the card from the table and held it out to him. “Thank you, sir, but there’s too much money on it. I can’t accept it.”
Ji Yanli’s expression remained indifferent. “If I’m giving it to you, then keep it.”
After saying this, Ji Yanli turned and left. The instant his back was turned, Yun Suisui swiftly slipped the card back into his pocket.
System: Host, there’s only one month left before school starts. You need to work hard and reach two million followers within that month.
Yun Suisui nodded. “Mm. I will.”
Inside the car, Ji Yanli took his phone from his pocket. A card fell out.
He bent down to pick it up. When he saw it, he shook his head helplessly. He opened his phone, tapped on his chat history with Yun Suisui, and then opened her social-media feed. As before, it was restricted to posts from the past three days, and there was nothing to see.
Ji Yanli turned off his phone, and that restless irritation surged through him once again.
By the time Yun Suisui returned home and finished washing up, it was nearly eight o’clock—the time she usually started her livestream.
After posting a new video, Yun Suisui hurriedly began streaming.
Viewers trickled into the room as soon as the broadcast started.
“Good evening, babies. I’m Suisui.” Yun Suisui spoke into the livestream microphone.
[Freeloader: Sob, sob, my darling wife is finally streaming.]
[Little Ya: Ahhh! Our baby girl’s voice is as lovely as ever.]
[Whitey: Licking the screen. Baby girl, notice me! I want to hear you sing Love Emergency.]
Whitey sent 1,314 sports cars.
Meimei sent 52 carnivals.
Bubble sent 10 fireworks.
An Anonymous User sent a cruise ship.

[Little Little: Wow! Sister White is so generous!]
[Radish: Our Suisui Squad is incredibly powerful!]
Because of the gifts, more and more people entered the livestream. The number of viewers approached ten thousand.
“Thank you for all the gifts, babies. Kiss-kiss, mwah! Next, I’ll sing Love Emergency for everyone.” Yun Suisui searched for the instrumental track on her computer.
As the accompaniment began to play, Yun Suisui started singing.
When the song ended, the screen filled with praise and animated gifts.
Yun Suisui randomly selected several lucky viewers and sang the songs they requested.
She sang for nearly an hour before finally stopping.
“All right, babies. I’m going to stop singing for now. Protecting my voice is the most important thing.”
[An: We’ll listen to our darling. Sob, sob. With such a beautiful voice, you absolutely have to take good care of your throat.]
[Whitey: Baby girl, you sang so beautifully! Ahhh, I can never get enough!]
“Babies, what should I do to gain followers more quickly?” Yun Suisui asked sweetly.
[Little White: Baby girl, go play a battle!]
[Meimei: Baby girl, battles with beautiful women help you gain followers quickly. If you battle handsome men, you might get cursed at by their female fans!]
[Whitey: Don’t worry, baby girl. Go ahead and battle. You won’t lose. The entire Suisui Squad is behind you!]
The comments amused Yun Suisui, and she laughed before saying indulgently, “All right. I have the Suisui Squad behind me.”
Yun Suisui randomly connected with another streamer. Her opponent was a sweet-looking female streamer named Qingqing Guo.
When Qingqing Guo saw that her opponent was Peace Every Year, she was startled. Wasn’t this the small streamer whom Ruotong’s crush had been following lately? How could a little streamer who did not even dare show her face or figure possibly compete with her best friend Ruotong for a man?
Qingqing Guo smiled and waved at Yun Suisui. “Hello. Shall we play?”
“Hello. How do we play?” Yun Suisui’s voice was soft and sweet, pleasant to the ear.
Qingqing Guo deliberately affected a delicate tone. “Suisui, I just checked your profile. You haven’t shown your face or your figure.” As she spoke, she stood up and displayed her slender body.
[Little White: What does the streamer opposite us mean? Is she mocking our baby girl?]
[Meimei: Damn it, you shameless hypocrite! Get lost!]
Yun Suisui frowned. Why had she run into this kind of fake sweetheart the moment she connected?
Qingqing Guo sat back down in her streaming chair. “How about this? If you lose, you have to show your face or show your figure and dance.”
