Chapter 24: The Pure Streamer is a Heartthrob (24)
"Thank you, Xinxin Xiaobao, for the fireworks. Love you!"
The girl’s voice, sweet and soft, drifted through the microphone.
[Sui Bao’s Husband: Aaaaaah, baby’s voice is so beautiful, it’s melting me.]
Yun Suisui sat at her desk, looking at the computer screen. She lowered her head to look at the excess weight on her body and let out a helpless sigh.
There were nearly three thousand people watching the live stream at that moment.
[Free-Loader: My wife’s voice is so beautiful, even her sigh sounds amazing.]
[Xiaoxiao: Why is baby sister sighing? Are you unhappy?]
[Xinxin: Baby sister’s voice is so sweet, she must look absolutely stunning! Can’t wait for you to show your face!]
[Baibai: Even just showing us your figure would be enough, drooling—yes, I’m a total pervert.]
[Meimei: Wait! Haven’t you all noticed that Ji Y.L. hasn’t been to baby sister’s stream for three days? Doesn’t he usually spoil her the most?]
Yun Suisui took a sip of water. "Does anyone want to hear a song? Or perhaps a story? I can do either for you."
[Meimei: I don't want to hear songs or stories today, I just want to chat with you.]
[Baibai: Get some good rest, baby sister, take care of your throat.]
Yun Suisui smiled. "Alright, then I won’t do anything else today; I’ll just chat with all of you."

In a private room at the Nightclub in the Imperial Capital:
Ji Yanli lay lazily on the sofa. Even while seated, his tall, slender frame was evident. He exhaled a plume of white smoke, his handsome features devoid of any expression. His long, shapely hands, with clearly defined knuckles, held a cigarette between two fingers, giving him an air of noble detachment.
Gu Shifeng said, "Don't be upset anymore, Ji-ge. If she doesn't want to meet you, that’s her loss. It’s not worth getting angry over a small-time streamer."
Jiang Yu, sitting beside Gu Shifeng, added, "If you ask me, that girl must be ugly, dowdy, and fat. Otherwise, why would she be too afraid to meet you?"
Ji Yanli irritably stubbed out his cigarette. "Shut up!"
A month ago, Ji Yanli had stumbled upon Yun Suisui’s stream. For some inexplicable reason, he found her voice incredibly soothing. He hadn't swiped away, but soon after, he fell asleep. He had assumed it was because he had been drinking. The next night, when his insomnia flared up again, her voice kept echoing in his mind. He tuned back into her stream, and once again, he drifted off to sleep. From then on, he listened to her every night to sleep. Over the past month, they had added each other on WeChat and chatted from time to time.
Gradually, Ji Yanli began to harbor a desire to meet her. He had proposed a meeting twice over the month, but was rejected both times. After this last rejection, he hadn't sent her a single message.
Gu Shifeng poured him a drink. "Can't help it, she's the only one who can cure your insomnia, after all."
***
Ji Yanli downed his drink in one go. He had managed to refrain from texting her for these past few days, but the heartless little thing hadn't sent him a single message either.
Thinking of this, Ji Yanli grew even more agitated and drank glass after glass.
His phone suddenly chimed. He grabbed it in a hurry, only to see it was a news notification. A flash of disappointment crossed his dark eyes.
On the other side, Yun Suisui said sweetly into her microphone, "Alright everyone, that’s it for today’s stream. See you all tomorrow."
She ended the stream and looked at the fat on her body, sighing again.
System: "Keep going, Host! For every million followers you gain, you lose fifty pounds. You are fifty pounds away from your goal weight of ninety-six pounds."
Yun Suisui stood before the mirror. The girl in the reflection had skin like snow and naturally red lips. Though she was a bit heavy, her large, sparkling eyes hinted that she was a beauty in the making.
She had already lost weight down to 146 pounds. At 167 centimeters tall, she didn't look as heavy as before; from a distance, she appeared as a curvaceous, slightly plump beauty.
A month ago, the original owner had died of overwork after staying up for five days straight, excited about getting into the Imperial Capital University. Yun Suisui had been sent to this world by the System to fulfill the original owner's final wish: to reach 98 pounds and have a perfect figure.
Facing a body of over two hundred pounds, Yun Suisui had been devastated, but luckily, she had won a weight-loss mechanism in a lucky draw: every million followers meant fifty pounds off. After a month of hard work posting singing videos and sticking to a fitness routine, she had managed to lose seventy pounds.
Yun Suisui checked her phone. Her account, "Sui Sui Loves Meat," showed over 1.3 million followers. She took a sip of water. She needed to keep working; once she hit 2 million, her weight loss would be a success.
System: "Host, are you sure you don't want to send Ji Yanli a message to solidify the relationship? His favorability rating has dropped by 10, to 40%."
Yun Suisui tied up her long, black hair, her voice soft and delicate. "No need. It's only been three days. I’ll message him once I’ve successfully lost the weight. He shouldn't be that angry, right?"
System: "Probably not."

At Yaju Hall:
A man sat by the window, sunlight filtering through the glass and casting a faint golden glow over him. His black shirt revealed his robust physique, and his sleeves were rolled up, exposing sturdy forearms.
The sound of a zither drifted through the curtains to the man's ears. He prepared tea, his wheat-colored skin creating a sharp contrast against the white jade tea set.
His phone rang. Ji Junmo tapped to answer.
"Uncle, I'm downstairs. Wait, why is there zither music on your end? Are you hiding a beauty in your golden house?" The voice on the other end was young, with the kind of pleasant, youthful tone that girls loved.
"Come straight up," Ji Junmo replied, ignoring the question.

Ji Junmo looked toward the zither player behind the curtain. His gaze was scrutinizing, probing, and even a bit aggressive.
Yun Suisui was wearing a slim-fitting cheongsam, her black hair pinned up with a hairpin. She wore light makeup, her beautiful almond-shaped eyes like mist over distant mountains, enough to lose oneself in. Her nose was small and delicate, her lips tinted with a pale lipstick. Her slender fingers played the zither with unhurried grace.
System: "Host, I'm dying of anxiety! You finally managed to get hired as a zither player here, and you've finally met one of your targets, Ji Junmo, yet you're just sitting here playing the zither!"
Yun Suisui’s eyelashes fluttered. "If I approach him now, he’ll definitely think I have ulterior motives."
The door opened. Ji Yanli walked in, wearing a simple white shirt with the top two buttons undone, revealing his collarbone and chest muscles. A faint smile played on his lips.
He placed a file on the table in front of Ji Junmo. "I brought the documents you asked for."
Ji Junmo poured him a cup of tea, his presence carrying the heavy pressure of someone in power. "Try the tea here."
Ji Yanli took a sip. "It's good tea. But what about the one playing the zither inside?"
Ji Junmo didn't look at her. "I don't know her. She's just the zither player here."
System: "Oh my god! Host! Ji Yanli is here too!"
Yun Suisui’s eyes widened, and in her panic, she hit a wrong note.
Ji Yanli let out a soft laugh. "Uncle, it seems you don't know her, but the lady inside seems to know you. Otherwise, why would she hit a wrong note right after you said you didn't know her?"
Ji Junmo frowned. He had always hated women who approached him with ulterior motives. Even while frowning, his handsome face was captivating.
"Miss, why don't you come out? It's a perfect chance to meet my uncle."
Yun Suisui suppressed the panic in her heart. "Sir, you’ve misunderstood. My hand just slipped, please forgive me."
Her voice was calm and steady, like freshly steamed sticky rice cakes, clinging softly to one's heart.
Ji Yanli froze. Why did that voice sound so much like *her*?
