Li Chengfeng looked puzzled. Why had two islanders left their homeland instead of staying there peacefully, only to come to this little mountain village and buy these two stone oxen?
Judging by the timing, the people who had tampered with the Double Oxen Calling the Plow feng shui formation were probably those two islanders.
Wang Bin was furious. He said angrily, “Our village has no grudge against those two islanders. Why would they tamper with the stone oxen and ruin our village’s feng shui?”
Li Chengfeng suddenly thought of a rumor that had circulated among the people. There was a group of occult geomancers from the Nine Chrysanthemum lineage of the island nation who traveled across the lands of Cathay, specializing in breaking various feng shui formations.
At the same time, they would set up vicious feng shui formations in an attempt to suppress Cathay’s national destiny.
There were also rumors that geomancers of the Nine Chrysanthemum lineage had once gone to the Kunlun Mountains, intending to destroy Cathay’s principal dragon vein and ruin the destiny of the nation.
After entering the Kunlun Mountains, those geomancers encountered the Dragon Guardians, who had long been stationed there to protect Cathay’s dragon vein. Every geomancer who entered Kunlun died horribly within the mountains, and the operation ultimately ended in failure.
From then on, the geomancers of the island nation’s Nine Chrysanthemum lineage no longer dared to set foot in the Kunlun range lightly.
Unable to destroy Cathay’s principal dragon vein, they turned their attention to lesser dragon veins and the finest feng shui formations among the people.
Over the years, countless excellent folk feng shui formations had been destroyed by the Nine Chrysanthemum lineage.
The old man beside them was furious. He shouted, “For centuries, these islanders have never abandoned their desire to destroy Cathay. They’re utterly despicable!”
Wang Bin, however, was filled with curiosity. He asked, “Chengfeng, what are the Dragon Guardians?”
Li Chengfeng answered solemnly, “I heard my grandfather speak of them. The Dragon Guardians are a mysterious organization founded by the official government of Cathay together with the Dragon Gate Eight Bureaus of the Three Primordials School.”
“Some members of the Dragon Guardians are masters of the Eight Bureaus feng shui arts. Others are proficient in Taoist occult techniques, while still others are martial arts experts. Their primary mission is to protect Cathay’s dragon veins from destruction by invaders.”
“Anyone capable of joining the Dragon Guardians is an extraordinarily formidable expert.”
Li Chengfeng remembered that his grandfather had once been invited to join the Dragon Guardians by one of their captains, but had refused.
His grandfather had always been accustomed to living freely and did not wish to join an official organization governed by such strict discipline.
Li Chengfeng now understood that those island geomancers had wanted to buy the two stone oxen in order to destroy the Double Oxen Calling the Plow feng shui formation.

When the village chief refused to sell them, they had resorted to sinister methods to destroy the feng shui of the place.
Li Chengfeng had come to find Wang Bin because he wanted Wang Bin’s help locating a hairless crow and a bat that had been starved to death. He had never expected to encounter something like this.
Perhaps it was all the will of heaven.
As a feng shui master, and also Wang Bin’s former classmate, he could not stand idly by and watch while such a disaster unfolded in the village where his friend lived.
If they failed to identify the problem in the feng shui formation, everyone in the village might die without exception. Only a few people with exceptionally hardy fates might survive.
As a master of the Strange Gates feng shui arts, Li Chengfeng absolutely could not allow such a thing to happen.
Those two island geomancers were truly vicious. They actually intended to send the entire village to its death.
The old man’s face was filled with fury. Thinking of how so many livestock in the village had died, along with several people, and knowing that everything had been caused by those two island geomancers, he angrily struck the ground with his hoe and cursed, “Those damned islanders will suffer retribution sooner or later. They’ll die horrible deaths!”
After cursing for a while, the old man turned to Li Chengfeng. His tone softened considerably, though he still sounded anxious.
“Young sir, you’re a feng shui master too. Can you tell where those island geomancers tampered with things?”
“Please help our village avert this disaster!”
“Uncle, don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can!”
Li Chengfeng himself was not absolutely certain that he could find the source of the problem. The methods those two island geomancers had used on the stone oxen were undoubtedly extremely sophisticated.
He circled the two stone oxen once and was astonished to discover tiny cracks on their heads, bellies, and legs. Fresh red blood seeped from the cracks.
Wang Bin, who had been following close beside him, and the old man both saw the same thing. They were stunned and terrified. How could stone oxen bleed?
Wang Bin asked in astonishment, “Chengfeng, what… what’s going on?”
“How can two stone oxen bleed?”
Li Chengfeng did not know why the stone oxen were bleeding either. It was the first time he had ever encountered anything like this.
He circled the stone oxen several more times and counted seventy-two places where blood was seeping out. Whenever a drop fell to the ground, it vanished without a trace.
After seeing this, he remained silent for a moment before slowly saying, “How vicious. They actually used the Earth Fiend Dismembering the Ox Technique.”

Wang Bin asked curiously, “What is the Earth Fiend Dismembering the Ox Technique?”
The Earth Fiend Dismembering the Ox Technique drew the earth-fiend energy from seventy-two directions and used it to strike the stone oxen, tearing them apart piece by piece. Its purpose was to destroy the Double Oxen Calling the Plow feng shui formation.
More than twenty days had already passed. If the process continued until the forty-ninth day, the two stone oxen would split apart completely, breaking into seventy-two pieces.
By then, every living creature in the entire village would die, including rats, ants, earthworms, and even the maggots in the latrines. Nothing alive would escape the calamity.
As Li Chengfeng spoke, many villagers returning from the fields were preparing to go home for lunch. Seeing people gathered around the stone oxen, they approached out of curiosity.
More and more villagers gathered. When they saw the stone oxen bleeding, they were struck by both shock and fear.
How could stone oxen bleed?
It was simply beyond belief.
When they heard Li Chengfeng say that after forty-nine days every living creature in the village would die without exception, none of them believed him.
Yet when they recalled the strange events that had recently occurred in the village, they could not help but believe him.
There were still quite a number of people in the countryside who believed in such things.
Just then, Village Chief Wang Xilai hurried over after hearing the news in a brand-new Audi. When he saw the bleeding stone oxen, an expression of terror appeared on his face.
Stone oxen were bleeding. It was far too bizarre.
Many villagers surrounded the village chief and told him what Li Chengfeng had just said.
After listening, Wang Xilai grew furious. Putting on an official airs and adopting a bureaucratic tone, he glared at Li Chengfeng and shouted, “Who are you to spread superstitious nonsense and spout such drivel in our village? Do you believe I’ll call the police and have you arrested?”
Li Chengfeng’s brow furrowed slightly. This village chief certainly had an imposing air. Anyone who did not know better might have mistaken him for some great official.
He was only a village chief, and Li Chengfeng did not take him seriously at all. With open disdain, he said, “Who I am is none of your business. Why should I tell you?”
