Once the message was sent, Xin Bai’s face flushed a deep crimson.

After much hesitation and inner turmoil, he finally dawdled over to his wardrobe, picked out an outfit, and, gritting his teeth, carried it into the bathroom.

No matter what, he had to look his best. The pollution of their home planet relied on him; there was nothing more important than increasing his combat strength. That wicked female, Hua Susu, clearly valued appearances—otherwise, she wouldn’t have fixated on Ruan Nan for so long.

Thinking of this, Xin Bai doubled the amount of body wash he was using and scrubbed his skin vigorously.

Compared to Xin Bai’s nervous state, Hua Susu seemed much more relaxed. With the guide at her disposal, what was there to fear? She had prepared quite a few things according to its instructions and was currently checking to see if she had missed anything.

Suddenly, her optical computer lit up with a "ding" sound. Hua Susu glanced over and tapped the air to answer.

A translucent blue light screen materialized. On the other end, a very gentle-looking woman dressed in a blue nanotech palace gown sat in a transparent, high-tech chair, watching her. Based on the limited memories in her brain, Hua Susu recognized her as the original owner’s mother, Hua Li.

Before she could even speak, the woman said with great excitement, "Baby, you’ve finally agreed to comfort your beast-husband! Remember to wear those sexy black stockings; your beast-father loves it when I wear them."

Hua Susu: "..."

The Queen, wearing a golden crown, looked so dignified—this sudden shift in character was... a bit jarring. When Hua Susu had reviewed the files earlier, she had assumed the Queen was a very serious person. Now, it seemed things were a little different from what she had imagined.

Seeing her daughter silent, Hua Li assumed she was just shy. She rested her chin on her hands and coaxed, "It’s for your own beast-husband, it’s fine, no need to be embarrassed. Besides, this is your first time, which makes it even more special. You have to consider that, besides Xin Bai, you still have four other beast-husbands, right?"

Having learned that her daughter had finally come around and was willing to be with the beast-husbands she had carefully selected, Hua Li had been shocked for quite a while during her meeting. As soon as she finished her official duties, she couldn't wait to video call Hua Susu to offer some guidance.

She spoke earnestly for so long that Hua Susu nearly fell asleep. Finally, after she finished, Hua Susu yawned and said, "Mother, my level is still very low."

Hearing this, Hua Li realized her mistake. She paused and said, "Oh, that’s true. Sorry, baby, I forgot you only have first-level mental power."

"Then... then just establish a connection." When she had bonded with her own beast-husbands, she had already been at the third level of mental power. She truly didn't know how one was supposed to comfort a beastman at the first level. For a moment, Hua Li could only stammer. She shouldn't have said so much; Susu was already anxious about her low mental power, and she had only made it worse. She fell into a state of self-reproach, just about to explain, when the doorbell rang.

Hua Susu glanced at the door and reached for the off button. "Mother, Xin Bai is here. I’m hanging up."

"Right... go open the door."

Hua Susu nodded and closed the video call. Hua Li, left in a state of confusion, let out a sigh of relief as the blue screen vanished. She really shouldn't have said those things, but the next second, thinking of Xin Bai's arrival, a smile played on her lips. Her daughter had finally grown up.

...

After hanging up, Hua Susu stood up and opened the door.

With a "click," Xin Bai appeared before her in a black bathrobe. His hair must have just been dried; soft, silver tufts hung over his forehead, making him look much more docile than his sharp, intimidating daytime persona.

After opening the door, Hua Susu registered Xin Bai’s facial data and said coolly, "From now on, just scan your face to get in."

From now on? Did Hua Susu mean that after today, he would still be expected to come to her? Was she actually serious? In the past, they were never allowed to enter her bedroom, which was why their facial data had never been recorded.

While Xin Bai was still in a state of disbelief, the light flickered, indicating his face had been recorded. He blinked his eyes, still adjusting to the glow, and through the long shadows, he saw Hua Susu operating the robot.

Once she finished, she turned to find Xin Bai standing there like a fool. She frowned and looked at him. "Are you not coming in?"

She didn't think he would be this guarded, especially since he had already arrived. Hua Susu felt that Xin Bai’s internal monologue was a bit too much.

Hearing this, Xin Bai pulled himself together and walked toward her, feeling somewhat at a loss. Hua Susu sat down on the sofa and opened her optical computer to pull up the guide. Glancing to the side, she saw Xin Bai sitting down next to her.

If she opened the guide now, wouldn't it expose that she didn't know how to do anything? Xin Bai was a beastman, after all...

Thinking of this, Hua Susu pulled her hand back and looked at him. "You know what to do for the first time, right?"

At her words, Xin Bai’s grey wolf ears flushed slightly. He shifted closer to her, lowered his head, and moved to kiss her.

Hua Susu watched his face draw nearer and reached out to hold him. Xin Bai paused, his body stiffening; he hadn't expected her to be so proactive. He narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth to kiss her crimson lips, but the next second, he felt his face being pushed aside by Hua Susu, and then she leaned in.

Her long, curled eyelashes slowly drew near, and her lips looked alluringly red...

Xin Bai’s heart was pounding like a deer in his chest. He closed his eyes, leaning in slowly, when suddenly she gave his forehead a light tap. "Focus. Why are you closing your eyes at a critical moment?"

Xin Bai’s cheeks burned. How was closing his eyes not focusing?

Before he could figure it out, she pressed her forehead against his. He then felt his sea of consciousness being opened. Inside, a small wolf cub lay limply on a patch of parched, dry land, looking into the distance with a lonely expression.

Suddenly, a green sprout emerged from the ground and nudged his tail. Xin Bai felt his tail tingle with a ticklish sensation, but the other side didn't stop, continuously brushing against him with its leaves. His once-lonely heart became somewhat flustered, yet she remained as calm as if nothing were happening.

Hua Susu was wondering what her own spirit form was. She hadn't expected to see something as ordinary as a mung bean sprout. Recalling the guide's instructions to use one's spirit form to touch the other party to establish a preliminary connection, she kept brushing against him with the sprout.

The guide was right; the little wolf cub, which had been pale and lifeless just a moment ago, was now flushed red and looked quite healthy.

She hadn't expected Xin Bai’s true form to be so cute. Seeing this, Hua Susu couldn't help but whistle internally. Cold during the day, docile at night—this contrast was truly exciting.
