Chapter 4: Making a List

Hua Susu stood firmly, and a young man with purple hair dressed in a white combat suit stepped down from the hovering vehicle. His face was filled with urgency as he looked at Xin Bai, scrutinizing her from head to toe. "Xin Bai, are you okay?"
Xin Bai shook her head. "Yan Luo Ye Xi, I’m fine. She..."
Before Xin Bai could finish, the one called Ye Xi gave her a look of disgust. "Hua Susu, how could you be so vicious, wanting to gouge out Xin Bai’s eyes!"
Ye Xi?
Is this her beast mate?
Hua Susu pursed her lips, about to speak.
"Xin Bai, are you alright? The communication just cut off; I couldn’t reach you and was worried sick," a figure with fiery red hair came rushing over. The sunlight made his hair shine brilliantly as it fluttered in the wind. A lock of hair on his forehead stubbornly stood up like a sprouting blade of grass, giving him a somewhat endearing, quirky look.
This person seemed pretty cute too, Hua Susu glanced at him and guessed he must be quite fluffy in his true form.
Before Hua Susu could let her imagination run wild, another figure dressed in a black military uniform and black combat boots, with green eyes and black hair, stepped down from another hovering vehicle. Standing before Xin Bai with a cautious gaze, he said, "Xin Bai, don’t be afraid. We’re here now. Even if it comes to the interstellar court, we’ll protect your eyes."
Hua Susu wondered: What exactly has she done?
"Princess, I will report this matter truthfully to the Queen," Su Yu said, looking at Hua Susu.
Golden pupils, white ears—this must be the white lion beast mate, Su Yu?
Are these her beast mates?
"You all..."
Before Hua Susu could finish, the system alarm began beeping relentlessly, resembling the lights-out segment of a matchmaking reality show.
“Pfft, Su Yu’s favorability dropped to -94!”
“Pfft, Ye Xi’s favorability dropped to -98!”
“Pfft, Yan Luo’s favorability dropped to -97!”
“Pfft, Que Qing’s favorability dropped to -100!”
Huh, surprisingly, one favorability score didn’t change. Looks like she’s not all that bad.
“Host, it is necessary to inform you that Que Qing’s favorability remains unchanged because the negative score is capped at minus 100, and it was already at -100 before.”
“In other words, the favorability hasn’t changed this time because it has reached its lowest limit.”
Hua Susu was silent.
So this means the lowest possible score is zero on the visible scale, and it has already hit that limit.
Well then, the situation doesn’t look promising.
But no need to rush; she can handle them one by one.
After all, Hua Susu has seen worse.

As a nouveau riche, her greatest skill was turning those who disliked her and held poor impressions of her into respectful supporters. The underworld called her the “Dragon Tamer.”
She glanced at the group calmly and said, “Why make such a fuss? His eyes are still perfectly fine on his face, aren’t they? People make mistakes sometimes. Now that I realize it, I’ve corrected myself.”
“Casually wanting to gouge someone’s eyes out, and you call that a minor mistake?”
Before Hua Susu finished, Que Qing sneered without restraint.
Then another sharp alarm sounded.
“Ding, Que Qing’s favorability dropped to -100! (x2)”
“Ding, Su Yu’s favorability dropped to -97!”
“Ding, Yan Luo’s favorability dropped to -99!”
“Ding, Ye Xi’s favorability dropped to -99!”
“Host, what are you doing? Stop talking; if you continue, all favorability will max out in the negative!”
Not that the scores were good to begin with.
Their prejudice against her was deeply ingrained.
No matter how nicely she spoke, they wouldn’t believe her.
Better to be straightforward.
“Then may I ask, have his eyes actually been gouged out?” Hua Susu asked patiently.
“Not today, but who knows if you have other plans?” Que Qing said, clearly distrustful.
“Don’t speculate about things that haven’t happened. I was momentarily confused about gouging Xin Bai’s eyes. I apologize here and now, and I promise I won’t ever do such a thing again.”
After speaking, Hua Susu bowed sincerely to Xin Bai, apologizing earnestly.
When you’re wrong, admit it; when you must take responsibility, do so.
In this regard, Hua Susu felt she had no excuses.
She was confident her bow was a perfect ninety degrees, graceful posture, and her speech sincere. Although they might not forgive her immediately, at least her attitude was clear.
But after waiting a long time with no response from them, she could only be patient and wait a little longer.
The others looked shocked to see Hua Susu bowing. Some barely believed their eyes.
In the interstellar realm, no female had ever apologized to her beast mate, much less someone as arrogant and noble as Hua Susu.
Even if a female was in the wrong, she might offer gifts to her beast mate, who would then graciously back down and forgive her.
After all, females were precious and scarce; if they weren’t forgiving, they risked losing her to others.
Thus, in the interstellar world, females were generally not expected to apologize to their beast mates.
Much less bow so respectfully at a perfect ninety degrees.

Xin Bai looked at Hua Susu bowing before her, adjusted the goggles on her nose, hesitated briefly, and remained silent.
Que Qing didn’t even glance her way, scoffing coldly, “What a performance. Who are you trying to fool?”
Su Yu remained silent, showing no reaction.
Ye Xi, however, squinted his fox-like eyes and smiled slyly, “You’re not acting for the Queen, are you?”
Hua Susu had bowed for quite a while, yet no one told her to rise, as if deliberately ignoring her.
She showed no anger; the original owner’s past misdeeds deserved their ire.
After waiting a moment and receiving no invitation to straighten up, she rose on her own.
Her posture was impeccable. Whether they believed her or not was another matter.
Walls aren’t torn down in a day; she could take her time.
But she wouldn’t just wait silently for someone to speak.
After all, flexibility is the way of the world.
Seeing Hua Susu straighten up with a look that said “this is a show,” Que Qing smirked scornfully.
Hua Susu ignored him and spoke candidly from the heart:
“I know you won’t believe anything I say now. Just watch what I do next. I’m truly reformed this time. Whether it’s genuine, you’ll see from my actions.”
After she finished, no one showed much reaction. In fact, no one believed her.
Su Yu listened quietly.
Ye Xi yawned boredly.
Xin Bai remained silent, her expression inscrutable.
Que Qing sneered mockingly, “Hmph, such hypocrisy! Is this just another act in your little game with Ruan Nan?”
She had done this before, only to deceive them for ridicule.
Yan Luo gave Hua Susu no face, placing hands on hips and sneering coldly, “Do you think we’ll fall for your tricks?”
Hua Susu ignored the two, glanced at the others, and cut straight to the point: “When is your mating season? Let me make a schedule.”
???
How did the topic switch so abruptly?
Wasn’t she just apologizing moments ago? How did it suddenly turn to scheduling?
