Chapter 11: What Do You Intend to Do?

If you want someone to be utterly devoted to you, you must give them enough—that was Su Su Hua’s guiding principle in handling affairs. After making her fortune in the modern world, she simply threw money and resources at a group of top-tier university graduates, making them her devoted followers. As long as she gave enough, those talents would all be at her disposal. A mere handful of beastmen should be no different.
However, while it was easy for her to discern what those talents wanted, understanding the desires of these few beastmen proved somewhat difficult. This gave Su Su Hua a bit of a headache.
Suddenly, her AI assistant announced in real time, “Master, the academic assessment results for the beastmen have been released. Please check them.”
Academic assessment results? What was this? Could she actually see their school grades? That seemed intrusive—an outright invasion of privacy. Yet, curiosity got the better of her, and she opened the report. Perhaps it was related to their mental abilities?
Upon opening the grades, Su Su Hua was utterly baffled. The school’s curriculum here was completely different from the modern one. There were no subjects like language, math, English, biology, or physics. Instead, there were unfamiliar courses: Mecha piloting, materials research and analysis, identification of superpowered creatures, insectoid studies... It all sounded quite sci-fi.
Though she recognized the words, she couldn’t understand any of the content. Clearly, a poor student remained a poor student, no matter the place.
Except for one—Agricultural Studies. Well, if it involved planting vegetables, she had at least some experience. With a natural sense of affinity, Su Su Hua opened that particular grade.
The page opened to show a glaring zero. No, for a subject like farming, zero was impossible. Had these guys even studied? Then she noticed the words “not selected” beside it and felt a bit embarrassed—she had gotten excited for nothing.
Why wouldn’t they choose such an easy course? Scanning their grades, her lips twitched; no wonder they didn’t select it. None of them had good grades—just barely scraping by at sixty points in every subject.
With so many poor grades, helping them would be quite a task...
As Su Su Hua pondered how to proceed, a new message popped up on her neural interface. She clicked it open and felt like the sky was falling.
The report was for her own grades, and when all her scores were totaled, they were even worse than theirs.
At least those guys passed most subjects with sixty points, but she only had a combined score of sixty in total, with each subject given a sixty-point pass mark by privilege.
Alright, with grades this poor, she had no right to mock them. After all, she was even worse than they were.
With such a hopeless level, how could she possibly offer them any real help? She thought her brain must have a hole.
It seemed that when it came to academic assistance, she was of little use.
Just as she was about to exit, she noticed an attached letter. Opening it, she found a science experiment report bearing Su Yu’s name.
Curious, she glanced over it—and was startled.
He had scored eighty-eight on this experiment.
At last, a decent grade. Not a total failure. But his experimental results were low, and the supervising professor had commented that he needed to spend more time in the advanced laboratory.
Advanced laboratory? They were beastmen—why wasn’t he there?
Su Su Hua checked into the advanced laboratory and discovered it was a highly sophisticated lab capable of conducting all sorts of cutting-edge experiments. The financier was none other than her own mother, Hua Li.
If it was her own lab, why wasn’t he using it?
“System, do you know why?” she asked.
“Host, the original Su Su Hua did not give him access,” the system replied.
Well, that made sense.
Since Su Yu loved doing experiments so much, she decided to give him a chip card for the lab.
With that in mind, she rummaged through her study and finally found a pale blue chip key.
After checking Su Yu’s residence through her neural interface, she took the chip and headed there.
...

Inside, Su Yu was extracting a core from a black stone, preparing it for observation and analysis.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
He frowned. Who would be visiting at such a time? The beastmen knew he preferred peace and quiet and never disturbed him.
At the critical moment of his experiment, he had to stop and commanded his robot, “Go open the door.”
In this interstellar era, intelligent sensor doors were common and did not require manual operation to identify entrants. Since there were many specimens in his room, he disliked random people entering and disturbing him, so his door had no sensor system.
The robot nodded and mechanically walked to the door to open it.
Su Su Hua waited outside for a long time, with no one answering. She thought Su Yu might not want to see her.
When the robot finally opened the door, she breathed a sigh of relief.
However, the door was open but Su Yu was nowhere to be seen, so she stepped inside.
Su Yu’s room was neat and tidy, everything arranged simply and orderly—no gaudy decorations, much like his personality.
After wandering through the living room without seeing anyone, Su Su Hua went further inside. Seeing a half-open door, she pushed it and entered.
In front of her was Su Yu, dressed in a white lab coat and wearing transparent goggles, holding a test tube and conducting an experiment.
Seeing this, Su Su Hua instantly felt a deep respect.
Though she did not understand what Su Yu was doing, it looked impressive. Not daring to disturb him, she quietly found a corner to sit and waited.
Immersed in his experiment, Su Yu did not notice her arrival.
Under a high-powered, clear microscope, he placed his culture solution and squinted as he observed it. Upon seeing the results, he made some notes.
Having finished, he removed his goggles, rubbed his eyes, and was about to change clothes when he suddenly noticed a figure sitting in the corner.
Her pale blue nanofiber gown accentuated her purity like a delicate jasmine flower. Her eyes were half-closed, appearing gentle and fragile—completely unlike her usual fierce and domineering self.
He furrowed his brow. Why was Su Su Hua here? And asleep in his lab?
When had she come in?
Suddenly, Su Yu recalled the doorbell he had heard earlier. Could it be... she had been waiting here for him all along?
He was utterly incredulous.
How could Su Su Hua quietly wait for him to finish his experiment?
He hardly dared believe it, but her presence before him was undeniable.
Had Su Su Hua really changed?
Su Yu’s mind was filled with countless thoughts.
Before he could compose himself, Su Su Hua awoke.
Seeing Su Yu standing before her, she rubbed her eyes and asked, “Finished?”
Surprisingly, Su Yu did not get angry. He raised an eyebrow, truly unexpected.
He nodded calmly. “Do you need something?”
Su Su Hua seldom entered the beastmen’s quarters unless there was a reason. So Su Yu did not hesitate to ask.
She stood and handed him the pale blue chip.
“I’m here to give this to you.”
Su Yu looked at the chip in her hand and was momentarily stunned.
This was a laboratory access chip, and she was actually giving it to him?
He remembered when he had asked her before, she had looked at him with disdain.
“Ruan Nan came from the lowest rank and did just fine without the lab. Why should you take shortcuts?”
That sentence echoed as if it were yesterday.
Now, she was giving him the key chip.
He asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”
