Chapter Eight: The Demon in the Night, Crimson Eyes!

Su Cheng thoroughly searched the surrounding area—no surveillance cameras in sight. Since this was the Wild Ghosts’ territory, no one dared to come here. He crouched low and cautiously approached a couple who were lost in their own excitement.
“Baby, you’re amazing, way better than Old Ghost.”
“Hmph, that’s just because of his cybernetic enhancements. His abilities don’t compare to mine. He’s a five-second man.”
“Hmm, oh, yes, you’re the best, truly incredible, uh…”
Suddenly, the woman fell silent.
“One.”
“Darling, why aren’t you talking? Did it feel so good you passed out? Haha, I’m unstoppable, damn!”
The man gazed down at the woman beneath him with delight. “Hey, why do you have a red knife stuck in your head? Is that your new cybernetic upgrade? Looks pretty cool.”
“No, wait, who was counting just now? And a knife?!”
He instantly realized the danger and went weak in the knees. Panic filled his eyes as he looked up, only to see a pair of blood-red cybernetic eyes glowing in the darkness.
Before he could scream, a red flash streaked across his neck. His body went limp and collapsed onto the woman.
“Two.”
Su Cheng lowered the brim of his hat and melted back into the shadows.
In another room, two women clapped their hands.
“Three.”
“Four.”
...
One by one, everyone outside who was applauding for love was silently eliminated without making a sound.
Su Cheng climbed back onto the rooftop, waiting patiently.
The deafening music drowned out any signs that the joyful moans had vanished.
“I’m drunk, gotta take a piss.”
“Come on, let’s go together. Ugh, this beer has too many impurities, I feel like taking a dump.”
“Just having a drink is already a luxury; ordinary folks like us can’t afford this.”
Two gang members slung their arms around each other’s shoulders and entered an alleyway.
“Oh, you’re bigger than Old Ghost.”
“Heh, yours isn’t bad either. Besides, who we serve is bigger than Old Ghost.”
“Huh? Wait, what’s that? A red eye? I must be drunk…”
“I-I think I saw it too. Haha, guess I’m drunk as well.”
“Damn, yeah, definitely drunk. What the—he’s, he’s falling backwards…”
The two men stood upright but their heads slowly tilted back. Their eyes widened, but they died without understanding what had happened.

The last image before death was a pair of demonic crimson eyes!
“Ten, eleven…”
With each kill, Su Cheng silently counted in his mind.
At last, only six people remained around the bonfire, refusing to leave the party.
Wild Ghost, wearing hallucination goggles, was using a flight cup, drool dripping from his mouth as he reveled in the sensation.
The other four, equally drunk, lay sprawled and swaying.
Su Cheng approached the edge of the rooftop closest to the bonfire, crouched down, resting a particle-cutting long blade on his shoulder like a hawk, eyes fixed on a middle-aged man called Old Ghost. With a powerful leap, he launched himself forward!
His body shot out like a bullet, tracing a graceful arc through the air.
His right hand swung the long blade down fiercely!
The red blade slashed through the night sky.
The powerful particle cutter sliced through Old Ghost’s body like a hot knife through butter, cleanly bisecting him.
“Sixteen. Next life, try to have better taste.”
Su Cheng flicked the blood off his blade casually; he recognized almost everyone here.
“Huh? Old Ghost, why are you in two pieces? Haha, interesting. Hey, kid, who are you? Never seen you before.”
Su Cheng charged at the next target with his long blade, showing no mercy. His strikes were fast, accurate, and ruthless!
He aimed exclusively for the neck and head—one hit, one kill!
Even though some had cybernetic metal necks, under the particle-cutting blade and Su Cheng’s formidable strength, they were no different from tofu.
“Damn! Who the hell are you, killing us Death Rockers?!”
A less drunk man reacted quickly, grabbing a pistol nearby.
Su Cheng’s left hand swiftly pulled out an electromagnetic kinetic rifle from his back, firing single-handedly!
“Bang!”
A flash of fire shot out!
The bullet, accelerated electromagnetically and charged with immense kinetic energy, pierced straight through the man’s brain and embedded itself underground.
The man fell just as he was halfway raising his gun.
The gunfire was quickly drowned out by the booming music.
The bonfire was the heart of the music, the center of the revelry.
Now, it had become the center of death—their grave!
“Seventeen, eighteen.”
“Shit! They killed my brother! Where the hell is everyone? Someone’s crashing the party and…”
A red light flashed, and the shout abruptly ceased.
“Nineteen.”
“Don’t kill me! I surrender! I’ll give you my cybernetics, my basic protective suit, and I’ll transfer you the money immediately!”
“Killing you means I’ll take it myself later. Twenty.”

Screams, roars, pleas for mercy, blood, and biochemical fluid composed a new symphony of carnage.
The bloodied blade was the instrument, and Su Cheng the performer!
In just a few breaths, all four were eliminated.
Now, only Wild Ghost remained in the party camp!
Su Cheng glanced back. “Last one. Twenty-one!”
“Hell yeah! No wonder she’s from Future City—the skin, the figure, just like an original body. Amazing!”
Wild Ghost was done in seconds. He pushed his hallucination goggles back up. “Come on, brothers, keep drinking!”
He looked drowsily at the others.
“Why is everyone lying down? Your tolerance is pathetic! Get up, keep drinking, keep singing!”
“Huh? Who’s that?”
At that moment, he vaguely saw a figure approaching. Furrowing his brow, he tried to focus his eyes.
“Damn! Who the hell are you?”
He stared in horror at the person before him, instantly sobering from the alcohol.
Bathed in the bonfire’s glow:
A black raincoat, black tousled hair scattered over Su Cheng’s forehead, one black eye cold and indifferent, the other a demonic red cybernetic eye!
A black metal air filter mask covered the lower half of his face, slowly exhaling white vapor.
He wore a full set of black basic combat armor, stained with copious amounts of blood and biochemical fluid.
The blood-red long blade in his hand was unfamiliar—clearly a high-end weapon!
“You’re insane! How dare you kill us Death Rockers? Do you know who I am? Aren’t you afraid of our revenge? Kneel and admit your mistake now, or you’ll die a miserable death!”
Wild Ghost trembled, pointing at Su Cheng, shouting with forced authority.
“Maybe. But you definitely won’t see it.”
Su Cheng slashed with his blade.
Wild Ghost luckily fell off his chair, dodging the fatal blow.
“Don’t kill me! Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you! Boss, father, please! I’m nothing, I’m nothing, don’t kill me!”
Wild Ghost scrambled up, kneeling and repeatedly kowtowing in desperation.
After the flight cup dropped, the stench of urine quickly filled the air.
In the next moment, his eyes widened in confusion as his vision expanded and finally split into two separate images.
Su Cheng glanced at the bisected Wild Ghost, then surveyed the surroundings.
The entire party camp was now filled only with the clamor of music.
The hunt was over!
