Chapter 46: If It's the Lowest Form, If You Can't Have It, Destroy It!
Su Cheng felt that prosthetic enhancements were much more practical.
As for traveling, any vehicle would do.
With enough strength, even if you rode a bicycle, no one would dare to look down on you.
Valkyrie shook her head. "I don't have that kind of junk here. I only have cars and intermediate nutrient fluid."
Su Cheng frowned slightly. "Do you have low-grade nutrient fluid? I only need the low-grade ones, the more the better."
Valkyrie sighed helplessly. "Why do you keep asking for that junk? How could I possibly have it?"
The others did not understand either; it was obvious that intermediate nutrient fluid was far superior to the low-grade version.
Yet Su Cheng only wanted the lowest grade!
"Fine then."
Su Cheng put the car keys back. "Then swap it for the intermediate nutrient fluid instead."
Truly, the rich gates smell of rotten meat, while by the road lie bones of the frozen dead.
What the ordinary survivors relied on for survival was considered mere garbage in their eyes.
Valkyrie reminded him, "I can do that, but I don't have a huge stock of nutrient fluid here. It definitely can't compare to the value of a car."
"It's fine."
He needed to prepare for his future enhancements.
He had only just begun his first genetic sequence ability.
There were still the second and third sequences.
He would need many more enhancement serums later on, which were far more practical than a car.
Besides, a little electric scooter kept a lower profile.
"Alright."
Valkyrie said, nodding at Savitrina.
The latter immediately went and fetched a larger case, opening it to reveal twenty-four bottles of intermediate nutrient fluid neatly arranged inside.
"I can only spare this much. I'll need the rest for my own use."
Valkyrie grinned. "Hunters love this stuff; they'll pay high prices for it. It's considered quite rare."
Su Cheng took the case. "Alright, thanks."
Valkyrie nodded. "Tomorrow, I'll have Katrina send you another four hundred bottles of low-grade nutrient fluid. If you need that stuff, I'll have to buy it on the spot."
Hearing this, Su Cheng smiled immediately. "Of course I need it! That would be the best."
Valkyrie helplessly muttered, "I don't get you at all. You reject a car worth tens of thousands of Alliance credits, you don't care for intermediate nutrient fluid either, yet you want worthless junk like low-grade nutrient fluid, and you're so happy about it."
"What I need is quantity."
Su Cheng did not offer a lengthy explanation. "We're leaving now."
With that, he picked up the case and brought Brainless along to depart.
"Brother Su."
Zhu Shan'er called out to stop them. "Don't go to the ruins. If you really must go, tell me, and I can protect you."
Not only had Su Cheng helped upgrade her prosthetics, but he had also given her a complete set of A-grade combat prosthetics!
She had no way to repay such a great kindness!
No matter how dangerous the ruins were, she had to go!
Besides, her current combat power was absolute top-tier!
Su Cheng waved a hand. "Don't worry, Brainless and I are heading home."
"Then I'll walk you back."
Zhu Shan'er hurried after them.
The three of them left the fighting arena.
Meanwhile, in another five-star combat dead-soul lounge at the Ruined City Fighting Arena.
"You're saying a rookie mechanic in the suburbs repaired Valkyrie's prosthetics?"
A heavily muscled man, whose entire body had been retrofitted with alloy armor, smoked a cigar and looked indifferently at Jers.
Jers nodded. "That's right. His name is Su Cheng, an orphan whose parents died eight years ago. He lives in the suburbs of District C.
I already had someone check on him while we were in Valkyrie's lounge just now."
He crossed his arms and continued, "Valkyrie is your sworn rival and your most formidable opponent in this King's Tournament. If he can fix her prosthetics, he poses a major problem for you."
"A problem? No, no. Just some suburban trash."
The man snorted coldly, exhaling a thick cloud of smoke. "If I remember correctly, Valkyrie is from your father's club. Are you betraying your own father?"
A flicker of coldness crossed Jers's eyes. "It doesn't matter. My father has plenty of strongmen under his command.
As long as you help me kill that mechanic, I can help you tamper with Valkyrie's prosthetics. That way, you'll secure the title of Fighting King with absolute certainty!"
"Oh?"
The man leaned back, resting his arms on the back of the sofa, crossed his legs, and said leisurely, "Are you saying I couldn't beat Valkyrie without tampering?"
"No, no."
Jers quickly explained, "Your prosthetics are equally powerful, but winning against Valkyrie definitely won't be easy. With my help, you can easily take her down!"
"Hehe..."
The man chuckled casually. "Defeating Valkyrie is easy enough, but I'm quite interested in that mechanic. So, I accept this deal. I'll have someone take care of that annoying fellow for you."
Jers smiled with satisfaction. "Good. As long as you bring me that guy's head, I'll immediately arrange for someone to secretly sabotage Valkyrie's prosthetics."
The man suddenly stood up, reaching a height of two and a half meters!
Tall as a towering wall!
He walked up to Jers, looked down at him, and extended a massive palm. "Pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Jers."
After seeing Jers out, the man's assistant stepped forward and asked, "Lord Cazaro, are you really going to help Jers? Valkyrie is one of their people. Could this be some kind of trap?"
Cazaro shook his head, looking down with contempt at the departing Jers. "No, Jers is just an idiot. Without old Jers, he's nothing.
Given his intelligence, there's no trap here. He's genuinely stupid enough to betray one of his father's strongest combatants."
The assistant nodded. "We also found out that the mechanic was brought in by the crazy little girl."
"Haha..."
Cazaro laughed knowingly. "So that fellow was jealous. Interesting, haha..."
"Then, how should we deal with that junior mechanic? The fact that he could repair Valkyrie's prosthetics means he has some skill, especially since even old Chen couldn't do it."
Cazaro narrowed his eyes. "Send someone to make contact. If he can be recruited to our side, keep him. If not, kill him."
"Understood!"
...
Back home, after seeing Zhu Shan'er off, Su Cheng immediately synthesized and upgraded all the intermediate nutrient fluid.
He obtained one bottle of C-grade advanced enhancement serum and one bottle of D-grade enhancement serum.
Now, he had enough C-grade serum for all six rounds of enhancement; he just needed to make up for it with enough D-grade enhancement serum.
Once tomorrow's delivery of low-grade nutrient fluid from Valkyrie arrived, he would have no shortage of nutrient fluid for the time being.
Just as Su Cheng was preparing to take Brainless to the ruins, the hunter card in his pocket suddenly vibrated.
It was a communication request from Remi.
Could there be news about implants?
Su Cheng answered immediately. "What is it?"
"You're in luck."
Remi smiled. "I found two broken implants in the warehouse, but they seem a bit different from current implants. Anyway, I've never seen them before. Do you want them?"
"Yes!"
Su Cheng said at once. "I'm heading over right now."
"Alright, I'll wait for you at home."
He hung up the communication.
"Wait for me at home, I'll be right back."
After briefly instructing Brainless, Su Cheng walked right out, mounted his motorcycle, and headed toward the black market.
