Chapter 45: Fragments of the Lost Sea Map

Fern asked somewhat unexpectedly, “You know how to mix drinks?”
“In other words, that’s one of the reasons I came to Detroit,” Suwen replied with a smile.
White Hunter didn’t press further.
After all, the Watcher had clearly decided to overlook what had already passed.
He naturally wouldn’t stir up trouble without cause.
The middle-aged man with silver-gray tousled hair spoke calmly, “Then make me a Caribbean Sunrise.”
“Though it’s already autumn, having a Carib tonight to reminisce about the dazzling summer sun is indeed a fine choice,” Suwen said smoothly.
Soon after, a cocktail with a light brown gradient was placed before him.
Fern retrieved a black box edged with silver from the cabinet.
Then, White Hunter handed the box to Suwen: “I don’t have anything valuable. This is the most precious ‘Border Relic’ I ever got in Lexington. Take it.”
Suwen opened the box.
Inside was a yellowed parchment scroll.
At the same time, the system notification arrived as expected:
[Supernatural Traits Detected: “Drifter,” “Coast of Currents”]
[Obtained Abyss Border Map Fragment: Lost Sea (1/7)]
[This map records part of the Lost Sea’s route to the Old Night Archipelago]
[Rarity in Civilized Chronicle: Tier 3 Epic]
Faced with such a precious gift, Suwen naturally would not refuse. He replied gently, “This return gift is more than enough.”
Not long after, the door of the Icepoint Bar swung open again.
Two familiar figures entered.
Gore exhaled in relief first, then joked, “Finally got those kids to the shelter. Fern, you’re definitely serving me the finest rum this time, right?”
White Hunter, having tasted Suwen’s cocktail, finally showed a trace less stern on his sharply chiseled, rugged face.
Hearing this, he laughed and asked, “Gore, are you sure you only want one glass of the finest rum today?”
Compared to Gore, who was pondering Fern’s words, the burly black man Grace Arnold, following behind, was quicker to answer.

“Rhein, that cocktail you mentioned in the car—can you still make it?”
“Of course.”
Ten minutes later, Suwen finished mixing their drinks.
After Gore praised the taste, the Icepoint Bar’s finest bartender prepared a farewell gift for himself.
Caroline swirled her glass under the bar’s warm orange-yellow light and asked lazily, “Rhein, what’s the name of the drink you just made?”
“Blue Margarita. It represents the deep blue night and a memory worthy of being etched into history.”
[Detroit Transformation Night Scene Fades]
[“Bartender No. 1” Game Ends]
Click.
The death countdown before Suwen’s eyes finally stopped.
At the same time, the bartender’s technique was vividly transmitted to his mind through the “Time-Space Transit” system.
“Perhaps I should get a similar set of barware,” he chuckled to himself.
Then, Suwen’s computer screen fell from the starry sky into a future one year ahead.
It was a raucous night without sleep.
In the distance, neon lights flickered.
Closer to the frame were cars of varying specifications.
One of them shamelessly bore a large number 25.
It was obvious that this was a crude imitation of the legendary driver No. 25.
Grace drove a wildly modified car with a carnival racing team style up beside that car.
He rolled down the window and asked helplessly, “Gore, are you sure you want to race with this number?”
“Grace, you don’t get it. As a friend of Detroit’s legends and the future newly crowned underground racing king, it’s only natural for me to use this number.”
The burly man nodded.
“Alright, to avoid you stirring up too much hatred and getting gang-beaten later, I’ll crash you off the track first.”
Suwen smiled at the scene.
Grace was reliable after all.
Bang!
The starter pistol fired.
One by one, the cars roared like wild beasts as they charged toward the finish line.
That was glory!
And the highest tribute to the “Legendary Driver” Rhein, who led them all in raising the banner of rebellion!
In the distance—

In the VIP viewing area,
a father draped his coat over his daughter’s shoulders.
Then he lit a cigar and said, “Feels like last year all over again.”
“Daddy, why didn’t the brother who saved me race this year?” the daughter asked.
Hearing this, Frey O’Neans smiled and said, “He’s probably gone somewhere more worthy now.”
The scene zoomed out.
Under the glow of countless neon pillars,
posters and giant screens promoting Detroit’s grandest race were everywhere on the streets.
They showed the silhouette of a handsome man in a black trench coat.
And beside him, a black racing car shimmering with deep blue light.
[Forever a Legend, Driver No. 25, Watcher Rhein, awaits your entry!]
The game screen stopped here.
Looking at the promotional flyer reflected in the future scene, Suwen felt a sudden urge to project his “old friend” from the storage box and take a spin in the BHX district.
Of course,
he remained rational and chuckled to himself, “Better wait a bit longer. The opportunity will come.”
The legend of the City of Chaos was temporarily concluded.

This game session was over.
Suwen was ready to study the extraordinary advancement material “Storm Eagle Feather.”
But before that,
he needed to write a letter.
A letter addressed to the “Detroit Watcher Organization,”
an anonymous letter set to arrive exactly five days later.
